What are you waiting on to arrive...?

Huge disappointment upon opening the package. The safety bar on one side is visibly bent. Waiting to here from the vendor with return instructions.

Waiting (now) for Simichrome, a box with a 40's SS, flare SS, and OLD, a Rolls-Razor set with no handle, but a good hone and blade, and a Ronson Safety Razor....

That's a chunky beast of a razor. Shame it doesn't use DE blades.

 

Ronson are so classy looking, pity they use proprietary blades. Very cool looking razor though.

 

I sent back a scalloped base plate to Timeless and I am awaiting the exchange for a straight bar. I find it looks so nice on the scalloped top cap.

 

Apparently you can modify three hole blades to fit. (like Lereche (sp) )

I'll be keeping an eye out for an original blade to use as a template.

A history buff, I see. I keep pointing out to people that want to interpret the 2nd amendment that they don't have to - there's that pile of paper right there that lays it all out. (Federalist Papers)

 

I used to carry a pocket copy of the Constitution(courtesy of the Cato Institute). Then one night I pulled it out at a cocktail party after a particularly dumbass progressive started spouting his bs. Caught a rocket from Herself. Now I just grin and think evil thoughts.

 

Oooh. I need to get one of those. Political dumbasses (they come from all sides, there's no limitation on their political party - including libertarians like myself) HATE it when you poke holes in their cherished beliefs, and back it up with quotes and historical events

Well, today, the three razors are going to arrive. I'm going to run them through a 'cleaning tutorial', I think. I really need to get a good camera mount that I can use in the bathroom or kitchen, that way I can show the differences between manual soak/scrub, such as is usually advocated, and the electronic cleaning such as I normally do. I also need to try using some mineral spirits on a straight razor - stuff flakes off of it with my thumb, but I don't think it'll dissolve with soap and water.

No channel (yet) - not sure I'd ever even have a 'channel' as such. I've been working on figuring out what I need for filming things for business (disassembly of PC's and electronics) for myself, and this would simply add to it.
