After a touch up on the barbers hone and 100 laps on the strop, the Challenge Cutlery gave up a smooth bbs shave
Another great shave this morning. Good edge retention which I look for. 4 passes for face and 3 on neck with ease.
I took out the Morley and Sons "Damascus" razor this morning and treated myself to a wonderful shave. I have found that three passes is what it takes most days to get that SR shave I crave. This was an effortless shave and the results are mostly BBS.

The Wester Bros provided a wonderful shave today. The Arkie finish made it smooth and sharp. I'm a dolphin role model now. 5/8 Hackett Diamond RR Stallion Thater knot A touch up on the black arkie was just the ticket. The black arkie is still a little on the new side to me and I seem to have a tendency not to go far enough on the first go around. Excellent shave this morning. I don't pick up much scent with RR's Stallion. The shave is fine but I prefer more heavily scented soaps and creams.
I am in the process of lapping a Surgical Black Arkie at the moment I just hope its worth all the effort, My preferred finisher is a CF so I am used to doing quite a few laps
For today's shave (straight shave #5) I decided to break in the Robeson ShurEdge that I got sight unseen from Whipped Dog. Those round toes really make a difference. I took two passes with it before cleaning up with my 1953 Gillette Tech. I gave myself a bit of lasting razor burn all over, but only three tiny weepers. All-in-all it is probably the best straight shave that I have given myself so far.
Tonight's shave was with a French Faux Frameback, that bit me, on the thumb, before I even started. The blade sits loose in the bone scales, and it flipped around, after I stropped it, and was about to fold it up. Right on the tip, short, but deep. Superglue to the rescue. I'm going try to tighten the blade in the scales, and hopefully the scales wont break. The bone is fairly fragile. Back on subject, I had a fantastically smooth 2 pass shave, that left me near BBS. This Frenchy takes an sharp edge, with the best of them. Zero issues with the shave. Beautifully shaving razor. Razor- French. "Leon Pelleray" A Paris 17 Bis. You are doing great for just 5 shaves in, it will get better and the razor burn will also stop being a part of your shaves soon.
Silverloaf western grind kamisori. The more I use smiling razors the more I enjoy them, they make shaving my neck a breeze.
