With a tip off from @twhite and a finish by @Billyfergie this beautiful boxed and minty Sun Ray is going to be joining my den. I nearly fell over the first time I saw a pic of this model of the classic 1912 and have been hunting it ever since. I came very close to scoring a similar boxed set once before and now the quest is over. It's good to have friends. Karl
So glad you were able to score it. Billy's the man with the magic touch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Thanks for posting this - I just pre-ordered some Mike's Lavender after reading that you were able to place an order today.
All I have left that I've purchased that I'm waiting for is a cheap Rolls-Razor set that I bought mostly for the hone and blade (no handle), and a tube of simichrome. Simichrome is hanging out at FedEX smartpost - whatever that is - and the hone is still sitting in Melissa, TX, as "Acceptance". that's where it's been for five days
From what little I've found on the web about Kronas, the gold versions were all first generation ('64-'65), and in the Bicentennial Executive sets. Doesn't make sense to me, Schick making a razor and only putting them in sets 12 years later (I'm probably wrong about this, too). But then reading about "Krona Gold Head double edge Schick razor 12M5 Date Code1976". From what I've gathered so far, Schick's "codes" had nothing to do with date of manufacture. I could be wrong, but there is little information about these things. Really frustrating. I got my info here.
