I'll be waiting on these George Wostenholm & Sons IXL celebrated NDC super speed Khaki set razor now I just need the khaki lol Durham razor
I think they are proprietary blades. lol I most likely won't be using it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ok. I read a post years ago by someone getting one to use and I couldn't figure out how in the world he was gonna do it.
I think that tryablade.com has a blade compatible with the Durham Duplex - it's some sort of grooming blade?
Lost two Segals and a Le Coq..but will be getting these. Done until August. Really. Another Bakelite Shake Sharp because you never know and Tom got my other one. An aluminum Apollo. Curiously, comes with two plates, one Techish, one short comb Newish. A Wardonia, pretty rare plated brass handle. In my defense these three came in a lot. A ragged but intact Rotbart. A nice replate candidate if I like the way it shaves. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
A 25mm Fan synthetic knot ... To be installed in a Fuller brush that was MUCH work ... AKA very satisfying! More to come ...
Yes, not giveaway prices but quite good value. I really hope the Rotbart can be salvaged, they're beautiful razors. If the baseplate is silver plate it should clean up. No clue about the Wardonia and Apollo as shavers but that's the fun of it. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
As luck...or fate would have it, the airline had a delay that caused me to travel on without collecting my bag at Toronto customs. Mind you I was promised they would send it on the next flight and it should get there today... I am considering that an empty promise so I will capitalize on this issue to pursue a wet shaving set up today before my bag has a chance to arrive
Pathology blade made by Personna. There is a Dog Groomer blade, but it's supposed to be terrible. Durham is actually still around, but their blade is now a flooring blade. I've no idea if its the same grind or not as the original shaving blades.
http://www.durham-duplex.co.uk/industrial-razor-blades/industrial-blades/personna-blades/pb4.html They claim that at least one of them can still be used for shaving.
The Durham blade that is available isn't a shaving blade (no matter what anyone tells you). Durham style blades are still being made as carpet knife blades, and are unfortunately not sharp enough for shaving. I have nearly 100 Personna blades that won't shave.
Apparently they make four different blades, in two different styles - the site above even mentions the carpet knife blade in the US. I have NO idea if the four blades are ground the same or not.
