Today's shave was great. Day two on the Tech with the Black Gillette 7 O'clock blades. Used one of my favorite new soap maker's soap today. I haven't used this one in a few months. Outstanding performance and scent. The Wheat State aftershave is not as good. Its not emulsified, so it separates and has to be shaken. It also doesn't have an orifice restrictor, so its hard to control the pour. On the plus side, I will probably use it up before I finish the soap. Did three passes and touch up. Didn't have to have a latex glove on today, but still have my index finger well covered. It makes skin stretching harder. Haven't shaved the goat since I cut my finger, so after 8 days, its almost in. Stitches come out on Friday, so I don't know if I will keep the goat or make it into a horseshoe mustache. Wore one of those for years, but stopped when I got into straights, because it was so much easier to shave with out it. Got a BBS today. I do like this razor.
Jason, You have outdone yourself. that brush looks fantastic!! Even the transition line between the two is nice and sharp and the wood grain looks awesome coming through. You are definitely an artist.
Thanks, Frank. If I was sarcastic, I'd say that I'm getting lots of practice with this particular design...

Busy weekend, it was my drill and I went to the symphony Saturday night. Was supposed to have a softball game last night, but it got rained out so I went and watched the Cardinals lose to the Cubs. So for Saturday's shave I just used the Schick E3, and got a great shave (like usual out of it). The symphony was good too, it was Rock of Ages, so there were some original cast members who came out and played with the symphony. So tonight I had my second shave with my straight. Again my goal was to just do a simple WTG pass on the cheeks. My lather wasn't as slick as I wanted it to be, but it worked. I'd say maybe half the passes felt good, the other half would stick, but no blood drawing so I'm going to call it a win. With two days worth of stubble I could definitely tell I had some reduction in growth. I relathered and finished the shave with the amazing Schick E3. For stroping... I did 20 passes on the rough leather and then flipped it over and did 30 passes on the smooth side. I do think I need to slow my roll when it comes to stroping. Happy Monday!
it is. But actually, I decided to part ways with it. I figure I have 3 classic ones. MAYBE I'll buy another Burma Shave sometime, but the current one was not looking too good.
