Tuesday's Shave Nivea Men Face Wash VDH Luxury Shaving Soap Jayaruh #182 Gillette Super 84 New Improved Rockwell Swedish Stainless CWR, Asma Alum Block Thayer's Lemon WH Florida Water AS The VDH Luxury Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #182 Synthetic brush. I did the first pass with the Gillette Super 84 razor and Rockwell Swedish Stainless blade and second/clean up pass with New Improved, and I ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Florida Water AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Great photo Guy. How do you find that bowl for building a lather? I've only used mine once without much success.
Thanks Doug. Hate to admit it but for me, all 4 TDG bowls lather equal if not better than the Symmetrical bowls at half the price

Tonight's shave was with a Japanese razor. I had a super smooth 2 pass shave, like a hot knife through butter. This left me BDBS with zero issues. I still have a fondness for Japanese blades. Beautifully made, and great steel used. Razor- T.F.Hairop. Barbers First quality. Soap- Stirling Spice Brush- B400 By Tom Aftershave- Florida Water
I know. It is weird. Especially when one is an adjustable. However, I just came into this lovely New Improved, and I wanted to give it some face time. It is a fine shaver. I believe it is the kind of razor my Dad shaved with most of his life. I am looking into having it replated. I am doing the two razor thing through Friday.

Great setup ! Cool brush. Just so you know, everyone shares their daily shaves on a weekly thread. It's a way to consolidate all our shaves in to one thread instead of a bunch of individual ones. June 2017!!! Trials and Tribulations June 5 Razor - 1959 (E4) Gillette Fatboy (6) Blade - (2) Soap - Arko Brush - Semogue 620 Post - Alum Well, today ended up with some good and bad to it. I worked an extra day today to cover for a sudden hospitalization of another manager last night. Worked a different store than my own and forgot there is no wifi available there. So my laptop was essentially worthless. However, I had a fantastic burger and onion rings for lunch, courtesy of the Area Manager I was helping out. A Hawaiian BBQ burger, cooked just short of medium, add sliced ham and pineapple, bacon and BBQ sauce all on a pretzel bun......it's amazing I stayed out of the hospital from the fat. Especially with the hand breaded onion rings. All from a place here called Dave and Tony's. So there's that. Time to shave tonight and I remembered to soak the Semogue 620. That's a good thing. Then I lathered with it for the first pass and it did fine, but was a bit thin on the second lather. I wouldn't have gotten a third lather out of it if I had wanted. That's from face lathering the Arko stick. Quite disappointing, actually, as I always liked that brush. No difference in technique on the lathering from my synthetics or other boars and badger. Just not a high performance. The good - two passes to DFS and no blood or other problems. Slight irritation from the blade, but with the performance improving at 6 on the Fatboy it bears out my impression that the blade isn't the sharpest. Still smooth, though. Hope you had a good start to your week.
