The situation out there is not related to the project I am on, but I am sure I will get pulled into some of it. It will get much worse before it gets better. And you are right, it has consumed much of my day.
That is an understatement. I had to talk myself out of bringing it to work to show off. So that is what that was. I put a new Shark half blade in the Dovo Shavette for todays shave. First use of the D.R. Harris shave stick and my 30DC brush. Woooo what a nice setup. I topped it all off with Grey Flannel AS. Bully!!
Sunday June 11 - SE Sunday Supply Provision Single Edge injector / Personna ( unknown # of shaves) 30DC LE brush in Maple and Cashmere knot The Red Green Duct Tape Special frankensoap - soft Italian almond soap melange Alum and Thayers Witch Hazel Astringent Aftershave I went with a reliable soap for my Sunday shave and the frankensoap did not disappoint. The expected excellent lathering job from the 30DC LE brush. It really is a great brush. I got a decent shave out of the Supply Provision injector, not as close as I now get from my DEs with two passes but certainly acceptable. I still need to work a little more at getting the angle right with this injector. I seem to fall off it under my chin and am a little more sandpapery there than I should be. On the other hand, I had no nicks, weepers or irritation so I seem to have the pressure correct now. On the whole, a good Sunday evening shave.
Great looking brush. Jason I'm continually amazed at how good the brushes look. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
While I too am anxious; given what you are doing for the group, you have no reason to be sorry... and I'm sure the rest of the group feels the same way. Its more about anticipation of seeing your craftsmanship and having one... than agitation over it not being here.... Im like a kid waiting for Christmas. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
SOTD June 11, 2017 Blade: Chinese Schick Razor: Schick G8 injector Brush: Omega 10049 boar Lather: Route 66 Lavender Woods Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Bergamot Lavender aftershave WTG I'm working on downsizing my sample inventory this month as part of my focus. The Route 66 Lavender Woods is a sample and is going strong. Most of the Route 66 samples I've had have lasted 5-6 shaves, but this one will go longer than that. The Stirling aftershave is also a sample. My wife did not care for the scent the other night so I'm trying it again tonight without telling her to see if I get the same reaction. Nice shave overall. Route 66 is great soap. Hope you all have a great evening!
That makes us part of the 30 DC Magnificent Seven. It's an honor to be part of that very special group. "Best for last"
I can see it all now:. "My 30DC LE brush is nicer than your 30DC LE brush ... Nyah, nyah , nyah , nyah, nyah!" Mods: "if you kids don't stop squabbling, we'll ask Jason to take them all back... See, this is why we can't have nice things..."
This afternoon: -Fessum 6/8 -Simpson Commodore X3 -Stirling Scots Pine Sheep -Stirling Gin and Tonic I put a healthy shot of M-Bomb in my soap today, and had a very crisp, very nice shave. The pine scent of the soap really covers the menthol well. It is a great combo. Packing up and getting ready to hit the road again tomorrow. I should be in bed asleep, because I have to get up at two, but I had a nap this afternoon and now I am screwed.
June 11 - Jason's brush arrived. First Use Merkur 34C Gillette Silver Blue (day 1) Jason's 30DC Tuxedo brush DIY PSO Barrister & Mann Reserve Cool Alum/Thayers/AOS PSB Today was several firsts: new Silver Blue blade, B&M Reserve Cool soap and Jason's work of art, the 30 D.C. Brush. As I indicated above, the brush is a work of art and looks great with the darker stain and black upper, and it compliments my scuttle perfectly. In action, it was awesome. Did a great job whipping up the lather. It has great Face feel, soft bristles and perfect backbone. The B&M Reserve is their new line and Will sent a sample of Cool. From what I smell, it has a medium to medium light scent that I find is mostly bergamot and possibly lemon and something else. The site list the scent as . I think it is great. Ended up slightly over watering this soap but it was wonderfully slick. I did find the lather to be lighter in feel that reminded me of the vegan soaps. To really test things, I only PSO one side of my face and only put Post Shave Balm on half of each side of the face. This soap made the razor glide just as well as the PSO side. The post shave feel was nearly identical so you could go without PSO and Aftershave Balm with this soap and give up nothing. I did apply the left over soap to my face to help moisturize a bit anyway. GSB did well. 3.5 passes to BBS. My past experiences with this blade was that it wasn't sharp enough but today it did very well and wasn't draggy. Some of this could be due to the soap I would guess. I finished it with a shot of Fahrenheit cologne. I really enjoy B&M Reserve Cool. When I stop at Pasteur's, I think I will grab this one. Also interested in Classic and Spice. I hope they come out with more scents. If I could make a hint, a nice Citrus would be a sure bet for me. Check this soap out gang.
Basically we have to go 24 hours without fever before she can go home. It was a pretty nasty kidney infection stemming from a kidney stone, and the fever keeps coming back. She is feeling a good bit better. We are all just tired. We have two younger children at home who cannot come up here because it is pediatric ICU. So we are all shuffling around and having no normal family life at the moment. God willing it will be over soon. Good news: insurance deductible met for year. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Well, tomorrow begins two days of low residue diet, Tuesday evening I begin doing the dreaded bowel cleanse and Wednesday morning I go in for a colonoscopy. Growing old is definitely not for sissies.
