Sunday shave: I had an evening social event so I waited to shave, finally 36 hours between shaves so I had some stubble to mow down. I broke my big, heavy Koraat 7/8 with a 3/4 grind, this razor is on it's second shave since touching up on a Shapton Glass 16k. The edge was smooth and scary sharp. Four passes plus some touch-ups. This would have been an epic shave but for a short time I lost my focus and used a little too much pressure. I had a small and some very light irritation but I finished with a long lasting smoooooth face. Irritation A Closeness A+ Smoothness A Sharpness A+ Monday shave With only less than 12 hours between shaves, I decided to go with another Persona II injector test. Today I used an old Shick injector, loaded up the twin blade and went to work. The blades worked even better in this razor than my adjustable. Irritation A Closeness A
I pray she keeps improving and goes home soon. Never fun but a necessary evil, I hope you get a 'clean' bill of health.
The winning numbers are drawn first you know...... Just saying. I know how that can go. Throws the whole sleeping pattern off. I have already said I have the best...it's like calling shotgun. Oh and remember shotgun if anyone comes for my brush. Grrrrrrrr
June 2017!!! Trials and Tribulations June 11 Razor - 1962 (H1) Gillette Slim (3) Blade - (1) Soap - Arko Brush - Jayaruh #46 Post - Alum Next! Changing over to the Super-Max Titanium blade to see what it can do. The slogan, "Feel the Power of Titanium" makes me wonder if it sends out a lightning bolt or something. Alas, nothing so dramatic. This does beg a question in blade manufacturing and sales. At what point does image and gimmick kick in and overcome actual functionality purpose? Is Titanium any better as a coating than Platinum? Does it help the blade last longer since it's a harder metal? Does it provide extra glide due to its unique structure? Or is it just another coating that works fine, as does Platinum and Teflon and even extra Stainless plating - otherwise known as chrome - so it really makes no difference in the final say? I'm not going to say I'll sort that all out this time, but it does beg the question enough that I see a comparison trial based on coatings in the future. As for tonight's shave, titanium is a red flag for me as I do have a sensitivity to a titanium ring. Potentially, my face could react negatively so I'm watching for any signs of extra irritation or redness or other discomfort. The lather was great as it should be with the Jayaruh #46 and Arko, and the two pass and touch up produced a nice DFS. I'm sending the blade isn't overly sharp, but it is smooth and sharp enough to work at the mild level. As far as any negative effects to my skin? None noted so I'll continue on with the blade for another night. My first impression is positive but....to be honest.......I can't really tell a difference from this one or the Platinum from the past three days. Yet, anyway. My weekend has arrived! Yours is ending!! Yeah, I'll rub that in just a bit. One final note - yesterday one of my favorite old time actors died. I grew up watching Batman and Robin every week without fail. And the Green Hornet. But Batman and Robin was my favorite. When I became a fan of Family Guy I loved the fact that Adam West had become a part of the cast there, playing the role of Mayor West, using his real name. It was just as campy and really kind of idiotic as those old Batman and Robin episodes and Adam played the role with gusto and loved being a part of it. Give his passing, I leave you with this.
PSA..... New guys...there is no need to flip your DE blades or dry them off (unless carbon steel) after a shave. No need to play with sharp stuff like that! Leave the blade in the razor until time to change it. We now return you to whatever it is that's going on around here!

11 June 2017 Sheep Sunday Edition Sticking to It! Are Sheep Sundays a thing yet? They are now! This soap is a must try for all fans of Arko, Williams, and all things Citronella. Rode the shark to that two pass king fu stuff and chilled it all down with Osage. Excited about a new soap tomorrow, everything else stays the same. Great day out roaming the warm prairie today, and a very nice evening at home. Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado. Have a magnificent Monday!
I've lived in Houston. The prospect of walking outside at night, like 11 pm, into 90f air, is a reality during the summer months. It was really the persisting heat at night that was noteworthy.
Very nice! Bayrum mornings are great! Hey. I gotta catch up with all the new stuff before I get more new stuff.
