I just love the occasional blending waft of the deodorant's mint with the wonderful summer lemon and hint of gin from Royal Water. It's been 1 year since building this shave kit and I really made great product choices as I have never gotten bored of this set for summer. I am getting better at wielding the unrefined and overly aggressive Dave Ocean Atlas razor and I have found the proper shaving angle. Pre-shave oil is still required to protect against irritation however. Most of my other razor/soap combos don't required pre-shave oil anymore as I've gotten much better with my razors, but this set still needs some loving oils providing an extra barrier of protection. I have no doubt that pre-shave oil reduces irritation and enhances protection when engaging in aggressive, risky shaves. No nicks, no weepers, not even any redness or razorburn. And the aftershave having minimal sting is yet more evidence that this stuff makes a difference. The last time I shaved with the Dave Ocean, I thought I was going to bleed to death from all the weepers on my neck and I had red spots for 2 days. *Of course, finding a better cutting angle helped too.
Thanks Guy. I am going to have to figure out a better way in which to photograph the tortoise Paladin. It needs back and side lighting to appreciate the grain patterns.
By no means am I a photographer or expert but can you adjust the exposer or turn on backlighting on your camera?
Gotta post now for Friday morning because I have a busy afternoon ahead of me: L'Oreal Men Expert Facial Wash Omega 49 Super Speed/Astra day 5 Musgo Real Classic S/C Nip Man A/S Balm Musgo Real Classic A/S Splash That's right guys, no Stirling stuff for tomorrow because as I said before I still enjoy using certain creams once in a while and it's been ages since I've used the Musgo stuff. I did a test bowl lather last night with the Musgo cream and I was very satisfied with the results. I used the empty Glacial Lemon Chill container which I'm keeping for this purpose and it's perfect for bowl-lathering. This cream has a lovely scent which I find very traditional and it actually leaves my skin feeling pretty good. That darned Nip Man balm is super - is it ever soothing and it gives some menthol cooling. The Musgo aftershave smells damned nice and it has plenty of skincare.

SOTD Thursday. I brought out the Rotbart SR and paired it with vintage Seaforth soap. The Plisson loaded for about 10 seconds whipped up gobs of rich creamy tallow lather. The new Gillette Wilkinson Sword blade made easy work of removing facial hair. Finished with Nivea and Aqua Velva Sport. Have a blessed day gentlemen.
