I actually got one of my most successful Mayhem shaves with that razor. End of the last pass, the tip bit me. I wonder if the blade popped out on mine. (Yes, I am trying to catch up on 36 pages of 30DC thread.)
Looked it up and found this for a description on Star Anise: So it adds a stronger liquorice and pungent scent but I am sure that depends on how much you use. I think Razorock X has some anise in it but it is not the same cologne they are trying to match. In all, it sounds to me like it should smell good.
Thanks guys! We made it safely to Dulles, ran through the maze, and we are waiting for our connecting flight. Almost there! It will be great to sleep in my own bed tonight.

So this morning's shave I switched out the Gillette silver blue for one of my Astra SPs. I definitely love the shave from the Astra way more and I felt like the GSB was giving me minor irritation at the corners of my mouth. But I nicked myself a couple times with the Astra...again. But my face skin that wasn't sliced felt so good and almost nothing from the alum...where I didn't nick myself. I just need to be more careful.
See below. Yup what he said. Also pay attention to the blade stops make sure they are holding the blade solid in place.
Thank you @Drygulch for the Shavee. The entire family approved of the scent and I am looking forward to giving it a go on Saturday. Thanks again Adam.
Good point. The second time I used my 1912, I grabbed it from the rack and started shaving without doublechecking the blade. It had gotten jostled and one corner of the blade had slipped free of the blade stop and was projecting past the safety bar. By the time I noticed, I had put three parallel slices down my left cheek...
My @Drygulch shipment arrived today as well. Smells great and I can't wait to try it out. Thanks Adam!
Thursday night shave: Another social engagement requiring an evening shave. Decided to go with a tallow version Crowne and Crane soap plus a Semogue boar brush. I had recently honed my Koraat 'splash' and wanted to see if my honing was a success. Direct from Koraat this razor shaved fantastic but I but a tiny chip in the edge . So I rehoned it from the 1k up and my first try was a failure. For my second attempt, I went Naniwa SS 1k, 2k, 5k, 8k, 12k then Zulu Grey. This time I was a success The edge was smooth and very sharp. The lather was wet and slick, the more I use the tallow C&C the more I like it. Despite just 12 hours since my last shave I did four passes because the shave was going so smoothly. All in all and excellent shave and only tickle from the alum left me just short of an epic shave. Irritation A Closeness A+ Smoothness A Sharpness A+
Very good, Anakin. Or on a brighter note, you maybe just reached total shaving enlightenment. You "Zen'ned" the damn things in there.
I received my Mayhem packages from @Drygulch and @BaylorGator today. Thanks so much, gentlemen. I look forward to playing with my new toys. The Dirty Deeds Green Tweed smells fantastic! And the selection of European soap samples will be fun to peruse. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
