In my limited experience, DE shavette is the most tedious of the tools to learn, and yet also the most rewarding. Shavette mastery is about developing steady low pressure strokes at near optimal bevel attack angles. Mistakes are nearly always costly. I truly believe that the pressure and angle control required for shavette results in the most comfortable shave possible. To read that you've got it makes me happy, because I know how much fun it is when done well. Congrats! You've also mastered a razor that can use any existing DE blade stash you may possess. It's pretty cool for me. I can stay dark side, and yet avoid rendering my exuberant newbie blade hoard obsolete.
What!!!!!! No blooming? How can you do that without blooming....I never get that entergetic making Williams lather. I will make a video with the 30DC brush soon to show it off.
If the puck is dry load it like it is 45 days past due. Tabasco makes everything better. When ever I struggle with a soap or cream I try loading more.
@MR41 shavette shavers are the Sith Lords of shaving, it is the darkest of the dark side except..... Popsicle stick shavettes, twig shavettes, finger razors and people who just hold the blades. It doesn't get any darker than these guys.
This morning was a 4:00am shave as I have an early flight. It's encouraging to realize that I can do a two pass straight shave in ten minutes and be as smooth as any cartridge shave ever did for me. I give credit to the many thirty day focus threads for getting me to this point. Now I'm sitting in the Fargo airport watching the sun rise. I can't wait to get home. Have a great day. June 22, 2017 Damaskeene Open Comb Gem PTFE “Amgios” Simpson CH2 Synthetic Czech & Speake Cambridge and Oxford Fine Lavender The week just keeps marching along. The scent of C&S Cambridge and Oxford soap to me is lavender with a hint of peppermint. I do pick up a clay like background in the soap base. The Soap Destroyer loaded the soap easily and once properly hydrated the soap was rich and slick. The shave was another uneventful near BBS three pass shave. I have found the Damaskeene OC to be exceptionally smooth but efficient. I finished off the shave with a splash of Fine Lavender and I am off for a wet morning commute.

According to Google, "Sputter" is a Physics term meaning: "deposit (metal) on a surface by using fast ions to eject particles of it from a target" or "cause to undergo a process in which atoms are removed". So, it likely has to do with how the platinum is applied to the blade edge. Wikipedia has a detailed article on the process. Of course, there is an alternate definition: "an utterance (of words) with spitting sounds (as in rage)." This could apply to the reaction of people to shaving with that blade.
Jun 22 SOTD: Stirling Synthetic Brush Razorock Son of Zeus SS Gillette Flair Tip Rocket Voskhod (15) Stirling Unscented PSB Two Girls Florida Water AS I used this soap I received from @BaylorGator as a Shavy, and I really enjoyed it. A nice blend of citrus with some earthiness and peppercorn. The performance was what I have come to expect from Razorock soaps. The blade is still going, but it dropped off a bit again today. I will do it again tomorrow. I hope everyone has a great day!
