I don't get any dying from Tabac. Also it is the thirstyest soap I own.

Maybe I'll dial it back to a N-S pass and maybe a S-N pass. The E-W, W-E was throwing me off with possible angles and crazy grips. I think it was over complicating things and causing problems and irritation. Back to DE for a couple of smooth shaves before going at it again.

Do how many passes do most of you dark siders do? And in which direction/s?

I usually do a WTG pass followed by XTG. I sometimes do a little ATG cleanup on the jawline, but only if needed.

I am not the most experienced by a mile. I do a north/south pass, and then a pass across the grain in trouble spots.

    WTG, touch up

Trying to stay with my focus which was working on finishing up some samples that have accumulated. I have used up one Route 66 soap sample and a couple of aftershave samples so far. Also finished off a tube of Arko Cool cream.

Today's sample to start working on is Soap Commander Courage. Nice scent that reminds me Fine Platinum and Executive Man. That after shave would go great with this soap. But I chose Country Club Sweet Water because I'm trying to use it up as well. Top notch shave all things considered. Really enjoyable.

Have a great rest of Saturday!

Very cool story. A few years back I spent 10 days in the area on a motorcycle trip. We actually road the original wood plank and steel bridge at the bottom of the gorge before riding the current bridge. WV is such a pretty place.

The valley would be a a great place to picnic. Maybe I can get down there next time.

The whole area is beautiful. The flooding wasn't fun, though.

Visiting while growing up, my favourite place to go was to walk up the hill to the private cemetary, sit on one of the graves, leaning against the tombstone, and read. No real mosquito problems, the gnats stayed away, and the trees kept it nice and cool.

Shaved last night in the shower. Two pass with touch ups. 1940's SS, LORD blade (second shave), and VDH Deluxe with a boar brush. The LORD blade shaved much better this second shave than it did the first shave. Didn't head shave, but did use my clippers to take off the head hair.

Most of the time, if I'm doing a daily shave, one pass with a chin touch up is all I need.

    Soap Commander Integrity
Alum and Thayers Witch Hazel Astringent Aftershave

Integrity is Soap Commander's unscented variety. Yet another excellent make of soap. It loaded easily on the damp brush, whipped well in the bowl, and provided slick protective lather. Two passes to a near BBS. No issues with the alum.

Hope everybody has a great weekend.

It has indeed. I still show love for my CJB and Rockwell 6S but if I could only have one razor in my den it would be my goose. It's one of those razors that gives me a foolproof shave every time.
