SOTD June 26, 2017 Blade: Chinese Schick Razor: Schick E2 injector Brush: Jayaruh #142 black badger Lather: Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill aftershave WTG, touch up Really close and comfortable shave this morning. The E2 is a great little razor. Quite efficient and capable of terrific smoothness. Light, light touch and don't push anything and you'll be rewarded. Have a great day!
A question for all of you injector users. On June's 30DC I have been learning and using my G1 Schick with Chick blades I got at the local chemist. As the month wound down I have bought four more injectors. I gave my oldest son his choice of of them with my only pack of blades. Other then the Chick blades, what other blades are on the market and where do you get them?
Let's see... In current production: Personna (a.k.a. Ted Pella). Available from a number of sources, including Amazon. Alternately, many local beauty supply stores carry Personna Mini Hair Shaper blades. These will work well in an Injector, but need to be cross-loaded into an injector magazine. Chinese Schick (a.k.a. Chicks). Amazon (of course) as well as many independent pharmacies. Japanese Schick (single blade). Ebay (costly), Rakuten (cheaper if you can get small package shipping) Japanese Schick (twin blade). Same as above. Japanese Schick Proline B-20. Rakuten (definitely get small package shipping). Like the Personna Mini Hair Shaper blades, these need to be cross-loaded into a magazine with a key.
Very nice, very close shave. Gotta love the Auto Strop VC-1, like a straight razor on a stick. DdT is easily one of my favorite scents.
It's just his regular synthetic plisson style knot he provides. The knot works great, has soft tips but minimal backbone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Saturday and Tonight's shave. Saturday I used my Damaskeene and tonight round 3 with @wchnu OC Dammy. I am using the Gem Carbon blade. These shaves are so so nice. Both razors are very smooth and efficient. To me the OC is slightly better on my third pass ATG. Fuzzy I cannot thank you enough for loaning me this beauty. I will be sending it back after my last shave on Wednesday. Going full Williams and AV. By the way I have an OC Dammy incoming. It will need some spring work. Winner...Winner...Chicken Dinner! Just had a great two pass shave! Gem 1912 w King Handle Feather FHS-10 Blade on it's 3rd shave Shave Secret shave oil Proraso shave soap Made Right 500 pure Badger Brush Old Spice Original after shave
Is the head any better or is it just the overall quality of the razor as a whole? I am in agreement to the quality of the shave from the 1912. I just had my first shave with one tonight. Trying to decide now between the G bar and the Featherweight I just got in along with some Gem Personna super stainless blades for the next go round.

Tues 27th June Schick E2 & Schick Proline Type B [ 1 ] This AC blade works wonderfully in the E2. Smoother than with other Injector blades that I have used, final polishing passes were so easy and unthreatening that it was as close as an E2 Shave can be, and that is close by all standards.
SOTD June 27, 2017 Blade: Chinese Schick Razor: Schick I1 injector Brush: Semogue 1520 boar Lather: Soap Commander Courage Post: Witch hazel, Country Club Sweet Water aftershave WTG, touch up The Schick I1 is a terrific razor. So smooth and efficient. Quite effective and gave great results today. I hope the same for everyone else!
June 27, 2017 Razor: Schick G1 Blade: Personna (1) Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22 Cream: KMF fragrance-free Post: Alum, Listerine, WH Curiosity got the better of me and I put aside the newly-acquired E2 to try the G1 which came with it. The last time I tried a G1 was almost a year ago. Based on today's shave, I'd say that either: a) I definitely prefer Personna blades over Chicks or b) My technique has somewhat improved. I did end up with one small weeper where I was fooled by the audio feedback and overshaved a spot. DFS+ to near-BBS otherwise. I'm going to stay with the G1 for another day or two, but my initial inclination is to prefer either the efficiency of the E2 or the mildness of the J1 with the G1 not quite hitting either sweet spot. The M3 with a twin blade is a class of its own.
