  1. Over this month I about decided to do away with DE shaving. I will keep a few that have special meaning to me....family razors and such.... But I am going all SE,Injector, and a bit shavette.
  2. I would pass on the Knize Ten soap, price is crazy and performance is just good.... but ..... Knize Ten cologne is worth a try, it is one of the classic leather scents. Not an aquatic but a hard core masculine leather. If you like the old school vibe of Mr Blass then Knize Ten might appeal to you.

  4. Thanks very much Jim. It is a great bowl. Jill did an amazing job considering it was her first attempt at making this left hand bowl. I have a blue one also. Next week. :)

I had a great trip with my daughter but I am happy to be back home. While maintaining my focus on synthetic brushes, I went with a solid lineup of some of my favorite hardware and software. The CH2 Synthetic aka "The Soap Destroyer" whipped the Route 66 Bay Lime Twist into a rich slick lather. The General with a Feather Super Pro requires a light touch but it a smooth shaver. I went with a 2 pass shave, XTG and ATG that had the baby in sight. A few touch ups at the bottom of my neck caught the little guy with no nicks or irritation. A splash of F&C Capri and I think I am ready to go back to work. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
  6. Excellent picture, Clint! I am glad you had a good trip with your daughter. It sure looked like fun.

    Razorock Plissoft Brush
    Dettol Fresh SC
    Gillette Flair Tip Rocket
    Rapira PL (3)
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue/Musk mix

It was a decent shave this morning. Dettol can really which into a nice lather. I got a little interrupted during my shave as one of the urinals in the locker room started overflowing, so I now find I missed a little patch under my chin. I'll call this a CCS due to that.

I have been using this razor for several shaves now, and I have noticed the TTO knob tends to loosen up for some reason. It is the first razor I have had that does it. Anyone know a good way to keep it from happening?

I hope everyone has a great day!

    28 June 2017 "Hump Daaaay!"
    Blade Focus Shave

This morning I decided on the Cella Crema Da Barba for my shave. Broke out JR#161, which is my small container specialist, bloomed the soap, did my prep and had at it.
The Krona/Voskhod duo put forth an outstanding effort. 2.5 passes with J hooking on my lower neck, delivered a DFS+. No noise with the alum block and a bracing finish with an ice cold towel.
Splashed on some Cella Lozione Dopobarba and Hump Day was off.
Have a great day my fellow Denizens!!

  9. Back to smoooth for a few days. Slim on 5. Astra SP. Stirling travel synth. I'm working through the Route 66 samples from Perry's passaround. All good soaps and scents; just not strong enough for me. I have trouble picking up scents well unless they are pretty strong, so this rules out any soap from my den with a scent that isn't "slap yo mama" strong. Still enjoying the variety, though. And did I mention smoooooth?

Day 11 of the Jr focus, first day with a Voskhod. The days just keep rolling with this razor. Another fine Soap Commander lather and a nice, comfortable 3 pass DFS. One tiny weeper that didn't survive the alcohol. Finished with the great Reserve Spice. After a few days of Chatillon Lux splashes, and now back to a Reserve splash for a day, I'd say they are both fantastic products and I wouldn't want to live on the difference between the two.
    Have a great day all.
  13. I should have gone with hers this morning(Cavendish). It's chilly right now. Oh well, ya can't turn back the hands of time.
  14. I saw what you did there, :happy097:
  15. Great photo, Jim! I have a few TTO's from that era, English and American, and none have the problem you are experiencing.
  16. My goodness...quick moves....you pushed the like button before I was finished with my post! :D
  17. Without a doubt this was my best straight razor shave ever. I'm thrilled that it was with a razor that I honed. I'm dolphin smooth and ready to start my day
