SOTD First use of PdP 63 with the Parker Synthetic boar brush, Qshave Futur clone, and Qshave blades (bad call). Finished off with some Gentleman Jon Alum and TSD Vanilla Bourbon AS. Nice DFS 2 pass shave with the razor set to 6. A couple of small nicks around the corner of the mouth need to find the right way to approach next time. As for the PdP this is an excellent soap smells great easy to lather lots of slickness definitely recommend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Saturday, July 1 Figaro Sapone Speciale (P. 160)~~Paladin PK-47~~Mühle R41 (2011)~~Personna Med Prep (1)~~Polo Green AS The Figaro Sapone created a very slick and protective lather. Too bad this soap is no longer produced---excellent, triple-milled, Italian soap. Together with the fresh Med Prep, I was able to get a fairly comfortable shave with the R41. Have a great weekend!!

Must request custom project to order. The Kai blade was used for today's shave. I am recommending now that people use this blade exclusively for the Old Type razors. The .006 inch thickness of the blade is what the razor was designed for and I was using .004 inch thickness before and having brutal shaves that left lots of irritation. The Kai blade achieved what the other blades could not. A comfortable shave with the Old-Type.
Where did you get the Kai Blades? I've sold off most of my old types because of the same issue you were having. The old types would shred my face up.

Great shave today, two passes with some touch up for a really nice and smooth BBS shave.

I will be ordering more once I test the Old-Type with the BiC Chrome-Platinum blade and if it fails like the others, then I will run exclusively with Kai blades in the two Old-Types I own. I will be testing the Kai in my Dave Ocean 33 razor as well to find out if it helps with the irritation. BTW, you can thank Bookworm for this. He recommended the Kai blades that worked.

Cooling Balm** ***this is another experiment from the "Mad Scientist"..it's a nothing Sunday and I haven't used this for quite a while. I'm not sure how humid tomorrow will be, thus if I find myself sweating aftershave, I'll just wait til fall&winter. The ad on the Rise website shows a guy climbing a mountain and it says the balm is a "top of the world feeling".

A mid afternoon shave today as the Misses and I are heading out for dinner, Surf & Turf is the order. Shave #3 with the Sabre and GEM combo and it was pure silk. A 2 pass, no buffing or touch ups needed and it was a stellar result. 4 kisses from the Misses is all that was needed to get my approval! What an awesome combo these two make, smooth and irritation free. Marvelous! The GEM blade is just plain sweet. It gets smoother with each shave, amazing really. Why I have not tried it before is beyond my comprehension. And the icing on the cake was the RR Dead Sea Soap & A/S Splash. Nice. Have a great evening and wonderful shaves Gents........ Tonight's shave was with a freshly acquired, restored, and honed razor. I had a fantastically silent and smooth 2 pass shave, with zero issues. I like the way these old cast steel razors shave.
