You know I'm a fan of these old Sheffield blades- long, swooping smile on thick grind. Most have some spine wear and the trick (or challenge) is getting a nice even bevel from toe to heel. Often these have a very broad bevel as well. They take a wicked edge.
I didn't shave first thing this morning as I had to get paint on the house before it got too hot. Only have trim left and that will be tomorrow. Second time using this Red Point and I am BBS. I wasn't focused and used too much pressure on the first stroke and with one less that 1/4" slice on the right cheek. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I love my Russians. This is only the second time using my birth year ZTV Extra. Light pressure, low angle, and the whiskers just gave up. Excellent shave. Tonight's shave was with a newly acquired, restored(Mehhhh), and honed Folding Kamisori razor. I had a silent and stiff 2 pass shave, that left me near BBS. I only had one tiny weeper under the lip. I think it might be too sharp. These Kamisori razors are very different to hone and shave with, but fun. Razor- Japanese Folding Kamisori. Tonight's shave was with an old French Hospital Razor. How old? I don't know. This is a Near wedge, that gave a silent, and ultra smooth 2 pass, BBS shave. This is a seriously sharp razor, that I am beginning to like, even if the Stainless Scales aren't my thing. Razor- French Hospital Razor. "H.G." Near Wedge. All American shave today in recognition of the holiday. The brush I bought on a lark since the price was right. Small and surprisingly soft - no telling how old it is. The Korn was salvaged by @gssixgun as it had a small flake and beginning of a crack on the edge.. First pass reduction was so-so but it delivered a nice clean, smooth finish. Genco Had a nice shave with my Genco. I have come to the conclusion if I want a stellar shave. I need to finish with a SE or injector. I just cannot get under my jaw with a straight. This is good as I get to use more hardware. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
