I bought it because I really like the looks of the flat top and think it will be great for face lathering. I purchased it from Frank Shaving via eBay.
When all LE30DC handles are arrived and knots installed we need to have an everyone uses their brush on the same day thread with photos. Though knots may be changed one day this would collect the whole set. Not even Jason has seen them all at once!
I was thinking the same thing. I'd love to see them all and have everyone use them in a single day. Excellent idea!
In mid month, pick a day and then start a separate thread for that so the pictures don't get scattered and lost in the 30DC Thread undergrowth.
The last 4 were mailed last Thursday. All are going to the CONUS. I would guess arrival between Friday and Tuesday based on timing so far. Two have knots set, one has the knots sent loose, and one will be awaiting a knot (a big boar if memory serves).
@riverrun is great at this. Also on patents. I see you have chosen wisely Gramps! Flat top it is. BULLY!!!!! Heck yea!!!!! So second day in a row with the star. It is super cool shaving with a 115year old razor. I find it more fun then my 1909 single ring. Which I am probably going to sale. Also a 1918 OLD in a case. They just do not amuse me anymore since I have a solid lather catcher rotation.
Well, after cleaning up the glass that my cat threw to the floor, I took a shower and did my sixth shave with a LORD blade. Still a clean shave, no nicks or weepers, DFS with two passes. (Well, FS with one pass, but I went back and did another just because). I've realized that I have no idea how to get a bad angle with my razor. This isn't bragging; it's just so automatic after 20 years that I just can't tell you what I'm doing. This means that when I _do_ pick up a non-DE, I'm going to have to concentrate like HECK to NOT allow muscle memory to take over. VDH is almost gone! (Maybe I should take a photo and post it). I also used up some crappy bath soap that I've been avoiding for a while. Now to figure out if I should go ahead and change out the LORD after 7 shaves, or just keep driving it until it wears out, just because. (I think the cat is missing my wife and kid. It's been pushing boundaries hard on things it's not supposed to jump on, and yanking things off of shelves that it's never done before. Including throwing my laptop on the floor.)
Tuesday July 4 - Rockwell 6s on plate #3 / Topaz Platinum ( 1 ) Jason's Cypress w/ Maggards 2-band badger Red Green Duct Tape Special frankensoap Alum and Thayers Witch Hazel Astringent Aftershave A shift change to graveyards means I will be going back to shaves that are either very late night or very early morning depending on your point of view. So my July 4 shave happened just after midnight switched the date on the calendar. The Cypress Badger brush did a wonderful job with my Vitos Red - Vitos Green - Valobra Almond - Cella Red Tub - 3P Almond frankensoap (aka the Red Green Duct Tape Special). I started out with a string of wretched badger brushes that left me wondering what the reason was for all the fuss about badger. I am delighted that I now own two superb badger brushes that have shown me the light. For the rest, it was a good shave that left me energized and ready for my day's - or night's - work...
Looks beautiful Adam. Should be a lather monster. Each handle seems unique. Great job Jason. Sent from my STV100-3 using Tapatalk
