One guy has an awesome 20ft flagpole that he keeps lit at all times. Really great. I just have a siding mount and take it down before sunset. I do not understand why more do not have a flag on Long Island? This entire place was home to so many vets and the children of those who served that I find it terrible.
??????? What's up with he Canadian & Nazi flags @Bookworm? I love you as a shave brother, but you gotta do a little "out with the bad, in with the good." breathing exercise or something for next year. I mean either of those flags could get you killed in Texas, brother!
1) - wanna see my Canadian birth certificate? I was born in Houston, but I have my paperwork from the Canadian government. (Certificate of Registration of Birth Abroad). 2) Picked it up at a gun show _in Texas_ in the 80's. I used it to tweak people that insisted on coming into my dorm room without asking. You could only see it when you were leaving (it was on the same wall as the door). It's not a straight NAZI flag, it's a Youth Group flag. Still creepy, so it's stayed rolled up and packed away for 20-some years. If I knew someone who was a WW-II collector, I'd pass it on. I don't want to toss it, because it's still _history_.
OK we can agree the Nazi youth flag is creepy! Where did you go to college? I was in Waco. and I can tell you from experience that you may get away with that in Houston, but in Dallas they'd hang you! LOL!!!
University of Houston. Waco is called "Wacko" by the rest of the state for good reason. The Branch Davidians were positively sane compared to some of the folks out there. (They didn't bother anyone, for one thing)
O.K. I shook off the whole Texas thing after four years. All you guys are nuts as far as I'm concerned! Houston as as close to the real world as it gets, in my opinion. Having said that, the Branch Davidians we're like 100 miles out of Waco in the middle of nowhere. Waco got the bad rap on that one. All that aside, you continue to be the man, @Bookworm ! Hold it down amidst the chaos, brother!
I'm set for tomorrow morning. It will be the maiden voyage of my LE 30DC brush which will offset the Popsicle stick Kamisori. It should be an interesting morning.
Installed a new piece of paracord on my fathers flag pole couple days ago. He's 35 years Army Reserve and proud of his flag. In my neighborhood if I hung one outside, some kid would steal it before I got back home from the grocery store.
I know the feeling. I keep putting out two solar lights, so I can easily identify the driveway sides when I get home late, and people keep stealing them. I'm going to mount them to some two foot lengths of rebar next time. Even if they steal them, I'll get the pleasure of knowing they had to just about kill themselves to yank them up.
Iron railing, aluminum windows and storm doors... Need a secret but easily reached cutoff switch, or a wireless switch and an App for my phone. Those boxes are adjustable? I'd want non-lethal, but very deterrent. Fine line between a booby trap and a security system.
Hm. With the Kai blades being thicker, would that make for a better "DIY Kamasori" experience? Taking you from "Divine Wind" to "Not the best of ideas."?
Yes - the better ones are adjustable. Keep in mind that you'll need to make sure that the item you're charging up is isolated. If you use a aluminum storm door, for example, use screws into wood, and a plastic latch, and possibly a gasket around the door frame.
Most likely you'll just force them into stealing a pair of rubber gloves before they hit your house again.
Nah, that's just going equipped for prostate exams. Knowing my luck I would zap the guy who was going to present me with the Publishers Clearinghouse Sweepstakes.
