  1. I had an even better shot. My cousin is a 4 handicap on Bethpage Black course, the one where they played the US Open. Well, we were playing at St Andrews in Westchester and he was pissing me off with all sorts of 'recommendations' and 'assistance'. Well he was some 100 yards away and shouted,'I bet you 100k that you couldn't hit me from there!'. Well after all the aggravation and comments, I had enough. It was par 5 and I had a 3 wood in hand. I put the ball back in my stance, hooded the club and swung. That ball never got over 3 ft off the ground and hit him on his inner thigh!! He went up into the air like a shot varmint. His wife's cousins and I could not stop laughing. That was the last words of 'help' spoken that day. The icing on the cake was when his kids jumped on his lap at lunch. Too funny. It was a great shot.

  8. You said it's been done. Besides, I don't have any loose blades like that, except for scraper blades, and @mrchick beat me to those too, if I remember correctly.
  9. Is a bear Catholic?

  11. I can't decide if this is sad or amusing.
  12. Probably both. I laid out what I'm going to try. A vintage Treet Carbon - and an all plastic (other than the doors) Hong-Long TTO.
  13. We don't sanction this, but ok!
  14. ARKO, because I want the best lather I can get, an "all plastic but the doors" Hong Long razor, and a Treet DE. No clue on age.

I chickened out. Broke my word. Let all y'all down. No Popsicle for me. Actually, no Popsicle sticks, my bad.

Handheld SE? I heard that idea was kicked around earlier.

Sounds fun...here's how it went. Basically, all razors are the same, so now let's see if I can do it with just a blade. Skin stretches were like it was my last day on earth. I am married, so scars optional at this time. It took a long while, but through careful angle control and short deliberate strokes, the techniques trumped the tool, or rather the lack thereof. I won't be repeating this, it's far too time consuming and tedious to be any real fun. At the outset, I was pretty sure my ego had written a check that couldn't be cashed, but I am proud to say I got a decent shave on a day twelve GEM, and I didn't use a handle. For anyone lurking that thinks this is an unnecessarily risky and, frankly, stupid idea--you are right. But, it is possible. After that little detour, whipped out the Parker for some ATG Kung Fu. Classic Lineup today, as the stars aligned on a Wednesday for this year's Cinco exercises in excellence. @wchnu likely has a single tear of pride rolling down his left cheek right now, and honestly, I am welling up a little too on this most Glorious of Williams Wednesdays! Alum was, in fact, not the best, though I didn't think I had a chance at an alum-burn free shave today. But then again, I am probably the only human on earth who used this setup today, that being a naked SE and WILLIAMS! Ponder that. No, actually don't. It might make me seem more crazy than genius. Checked off everything else on today's list to boot! Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado.
Tomorrow is Thursday. Make it count.

    Have a nice evening!
    :)
  16. I'm impressed. Please don't try it with a DE, as they're too floppy.
  17. Many of Adam's early learning curve writings really helped me succeed.
  18. Wouldn't dream of it. The tension placed on a mounted DE blade is essential in the modern era. I really like the shavette dual arm mount for DE. It puts SR heft and stiffness into a super thin and sharp bevel. The combination necessitates the application of extremely light pressure, and when perfected, is quite gentle though not without risk. The mechanics of an SR stroke actually are not conducive to cutting the skin, but learning those mechanics can be many miles of rough road.
  19. Thanks, I think...
  20. General Announcement:

    I am retiring from stun
    stroppable DE, huh?
