    I'm back to shaving in the morning so I went back to the Gillette and Arko the last two mornings. Not even close to joining the festivities. But for the speed, comfort and quality of shave I just can't beat the Gillette Flare Tip plus Astra SP/Feather yet.

    I might take the Fatip with me on vacation next week though, we'll see.

    A wonderful shave this morning. The Cambridge & Oxford soap is such a pleasure with its rich slick lather. The scent is a subtle mix of lavender, rosemary and peppermint. Sticking with the two pass routine I paid particular attention to my lower right neck stretching the skin on each pass. I can see that the results are improving and with continued focus the muscle memory will be fully ingrained. I finished with a splash of Fine Lavender and I am ready for the day. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

    Thank you Jim. MdC original has the in your face medicinal lavender scent. The Cambridge & Oxford has the more floral lavender scent rounded out with a cast of other scents with peppermint and rosemary leading the way. The Fine Lavender is their take on the Cambridge & Oxford scent so it matches great.

    I'm considering moving my L&L Grooming Marshlands A.S. out of my summer lineup. It does have menthol, and there is that "quick early kick", but it lasts long enough just to show me it's there. The Oakmoss and Vetiver (among other features)appear to overpower the menthol. It's a nice A.S., but not quite for summer.

    6 July 2017 Blade Focus Shave

    Today I used Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap for the first time. WOW!!
    The reading I did called this soap hard to lather. Well, I guess I had some beginners luck then. Bloomed the soap with hot water while I brushed my teeth. Then using the dry brush technique with my Omega 10098, I went to town on the puck for about 90 seconds. Went to the bowl and started swirling. After about 45 seconds and some drips of water on the brush, I had a ton of lather. I've heard the scent of the soap described as "soapy". But I smelled "flowery". Anyway, the Krona/7 o'clock Green combo did its thing and 2.5 passes later I was smooth with a DFS. The lather was very slick and the Krona just glided over my face. After feel was soft and smooth.
    Splashed on some Fine "American Blend" and my day is off to an awesome start.
