Ok so I'm bbs smooth but boy does this razor take it down to 3rd layer of skin. The aftershave stung quite a bit. This soap is finally giving me slickness. It's a weird soap for sure. I've had it for awhile but don't use it often. I say I've used it maybe 8-9 times and I'm down to the bottom. lol I don't think it was the 4oz it should of been.

Prep: Cold water face wash
Soap: Henri et Victoria, Chestnut L’Orange
Brush: Envy Shave Luxury Silvertip
Blade: Astra SP
Razor: R89 w/Weber Wave
Post Shave: Witch Hazel, Proraso Balm

First time with this cream. Fantastic scent, not overpowering, lathered easily and quite fast, and did not require that I reload the brush for 2nd pass or touchups. The first whiff of sweet orang is quickly overtaken by the lite nuttiness of the chestnuts. A wonderful, not overpowering fragrance combination that I will most definitely purchase in a full size.

How do you like the MS 2-band knot?

 

I like it very much Guy. It's a 24/63 which ends up with a 48 mm loft. It has good backbone and soft tips. Best knot I've purchased in some time.

*this morning I announced I was considering setting this aside until the fall months. I figured I'd give it a last go until then, as the . humidity will kick in later in the day.

 

Coming back from vacation, things have just been too nuts to do the cinco thing, so I focused on trying 2 awesome soaps in the last 2 days:

First, growing up with an orange tree in the back yard, this scent brings back great memories. I can even smell the distinctive smells of the leaves and tree bark. Absolutely love it!

Second, a surprise serindipity. Ever since I received my B&M Seville, I've been a bit bummed about my purchase, since the scent in the tub just smells like iced tea to me. Not really excited about shaving with an iced tea soap, I lathered it up this morning, and it blossomed into a beautiful citrus barbershop bouquet that I really dig! Totally a keeper and smells nothing like iced tea!

Shave on, gentlemen!

The Jeeves of Hudson Street Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #199 synthetic brush. I did the two passes with the GEM Micromatic Bullet Tip razor and GEM Reversible SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Lucky Tiger AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

The Kropp is an excellent razor. It has consistently provided me with wonderful shaves. Despite it's larger size it is a joy to work with and it is loud. Nothing but face-rubbing goodness left behind.
