Day 6 of the NEW LC focus, 2nd day with a Voskhod. Realized this could have been a Menthol Monday combo, but am using it as it is has been extremely hot here. It's been about 95 farenheit for a few days, which is quite hot for up here in the mountains. Hot summers in British Columbia usually mean forest fires. Parts of our province are burning right now, with a few small towns in the central part of BC having been evacuated.
Another pleasant shave this morning. A nice, cooling lather from the Proraso very easily whipped up by the Tuxedo. 3 passes later, with a focus on skin stretching, and I am off to work after a DFS. Thanks again to Chris and Clint for some good jawline finishing advice. Finished with Cool for an overall classic Italian barbershop kind of morning.
    Have a great day all!
  2. Jason, the plating on your New looks to be in pretty good shape!

  3. Yes, I believe so Andrew. The top cap is much more copper-coloured than the rest of the razor, but I understand that is quite common.

Nice shave this morning with Reef Point Classic Barbershop. Nice, easy lather. Good slickness and post-shave feel. First use with Reef Point and I enjoyed it. The aftershave has a silky and conditioning feel. All around nice results.

    Have a great day!

  9. Beautiful picture, Perry!
  10. update-got the cold stuff(Bodywash)....it appears to be a clone of Nivea's COOL, in that it too is "icy-cold".
  11. Thanks, Jim!
  12. BUlly!!! You da man.

A Slant is the only DE on my list.

Glad your feeling better. Bonus points for The Veg.

Have you used a OLD yet?
I Have a NEW in a Windsor set. One of the razors I am going to sell. The cap has lost all it's plating. Must have been an issue with them.
  13. Now for the hard question, how do you compare the scent to other barber shop offerings?

  14. I have a friend in San Diego who says it's "warm and humid" there. I didn't think it could get humid in CA.But I'm no weatherman..ooops, we'd better prepare for anew "buzzword" -MAN OF WEATHER. lol.
  15. I have one, but haven't gotten to it yet. Reports to come as I go through the collection.
  16. THat is one that could beat the Delta Echo.
  17. Beautiful picture Clint. Do we see a shadow of you in the brush handle? Route 66 Bay Lime Twist is an excellent shave soap. :happy088:

  18. I was hoping no one would ask! I'm terrible at scent descriptions. I will say this variety is quite different from others I've had or smelled. It's not powdery or citrusy to me. A more clean and sophisticated soap smell is what I get. It's very nice. Pretty subtle and not in your face. Smells nothing like Stirling Barbershop and nothing like Clubman. Nice and clean.

  19. There is no doubt that some of the newer razors out perform the vintage Gillette's. I do still use my Gillette's and enjoy them. Something about history, who owned them before, how far have they traveled, Etc. I prefer to only buy razors that are made in the U.S. They are usually made by smaller companies, and I like to support them over Chinese companies, even if they give a good shave. That's just me.
