You're absolutely right Chris, I may have to just do it muhself. Thing is, many groups do it for certain charities. So long as I believe in the charity, douse me!!
14 July 2017 OLD Blade Focus Shave Pre: The usual(see previous 30DC) Razor: 1911 Gillette OLD Blade: Gillette Silver Blue Brush: Omega 10098 Soap: @Salty Belle's Route 66 "Rum Runner" Post: As before(see earlier in the week) After Shave: The one and only Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum Last shave of the week with the iconic 1911 Gillette OLD type razor. It was a real kick shaving with a tool that is 106 years old. Per my new tradition, I used one of my favorite soaps today: Route 66 "Rum Runner". Putting aside the great scent, I love the ease of making the lather, the slickness during the shave and the fantastic post shave feel. 2.5 passes and I was smooth and my face felt soft as a baby's butt. The GSB again validated its position as my baseline blade. Out of the six shaves this week, I went BBS twice and DFS or DFS+ the rest of the way. There was a slight drop off today, but being the last day of use, I don't see that as a problem. So, I splashed on some VIBR and TGIF was underway. Have a great shave, have a great day!!
July 14, 2017 Razor: L1 Schick Injector Blade: Personna (1) Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22 Cream: KMF fragrance-free Post: Alum, Listerine, WH Today was the first shave with a newly-acquired Schick L1 Injector. This had to be the hardest-to-clean Injector I've ever had. The blade in the razor was practically glued in with a substance that had the consistency of tar or really old Coca Cola. It took a lot of soaking and a bit of force to get it out. Unfortunately, a self-made crisis caused me to have to rush the shave and end up with a scratch along my jawline. A decent shave otherwise, though. One thing I did notice is that, like my Schick M3, the larger face of the razor has a slight tendency to drag on my skin when using a single blade. I suspect these later razors were optimized for use of a Twin.
It is "cool" enough today for me to have used(and enjoyed)the Avon 4 Men Maxwell 23 Tribute aftershave. It's been a while for Max 23-it's nice to "shave out of a car".

July 14th Gillette NEW LC w Astra (2) 30DC LE Soap Commander Endurance Thayers Barrister's Reserve Spice Day 9 of the NEW LC focus, 2nd day with an Astra SP. A really top notch lather with the Endurance/tuxedo led to a pleasant, 3 pass DFS. Once again, as I have all week, focussed on skin stretching upward to do a better job on my jawline without a touch up. Left a little, but not much. Finished with the Spice, which along with Stirling Barbershop, is the favourite of SWMBO. All is good as I head off to work. Have a great day all!
I felt the same about the Ikon Tech. Even though I managed to get good shaves from the razor the level of effort took at the fun out of the shave routine.
For the rest of the month and through August, I'm planning to stick to this setup and work on technique. Merkur 23c Van Der Hagen green boar brush Van Der Hagen luxury shave soap Proraso preshave Proraso blue aftershave. I have some razor bumps on my throat that I'm trying to get past. I have a "bony" throat and need to work on technique more in that area. I'm going to go WTG in that area to see how it goes.
Great setup and plan. Feel free to ask for advice. You'll find people very helpful and supportive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
