I do cold all the time from pre to post and everything in between shaves. It's not for everyone but for me...it works

I do as well. I haven't shaved with warm water for a long time.

Man it's been busy. I've kinda started a 30 day rule with the GEM 1912. I'm really starting to think there is something there with the thicker, heavier blade. It just mows down hair nice and smooth. I have 5 shaves on the blade now and I'm thinking it's due for a switcheroo.

The only issue is getting that bigger head under my nose. But there has been zero blood and a little feedback from the alum here and there. Other than that aaaaall groovy!

    Happy shaving everyone!

Josh try going side to side passes under your nose. I find it easier that way.

I do that after the initial North to South pass. Maybe I'll try doing the opposite direction of my second pass during the first pass...:signs002:

Razor: Mongoose AlumiGoose w/ Hempel Ti
    Blade: Feather Professional (1)
    Brush: Oscar 11, w/Omega 10049 Boar
    Soap: Route 66 Barbershop Hop
    A/S: Fine American Blend
    Bowl: TW 3D Printer Bowl

Removed the Captain Titan Mild blade for a Feather Professional as I wasn't getting the performance from the Captain Titan that I'm used to getting.
I had a very good 3 pass shave with a clean up. I really enjoy the Fine American Blend.

That's what I did in the beginning. Now I have finally mastered the North to South pass for the 1st pass. The area between the lips and nose was the hardest part for me in mastering Gem style razors.

Great picture Doug. I have never really got the best shaves when using the Titan Mild blade. How similar is Fine American Blend to Floid Blue or Myrsol F/Extra

Thank you Clint. I don't find Fine American Blend similar o Floid Blue or Myrsol F/Extra. In my opinion they are all much different, both in scent and the way they apply and interact with my face. Keep in mind my face is a little old [understatement :)] and chiseled, so I may not be the best judge. The Feather Professional is far superior the the Titan Mild in my opinion. By a long shot.

:thanks: Andrew. Have you put that baby down yet? He'll never learn to walk if you carry him all the time. :)

It wasn't hard for me. She was a wiggler and would only let you hold her just so long before DOWN!

    Thursday shave:

Last weekend I honed two razors, the first was a flop but today's was better. I finished this razor on a Zulu Grey.

The edge looked OK under the loupe and was tree topping hairs with a good popping sound. I started the shave and the edge was smooth and sharp. Four passes no blood and the alum test passed with flying colours. I was surprised I just missed BBS.

    Irritation A+ Closeness A- Smoothness A Sharpness A

    Razor: PRC Damscus
    Strop: Drygulch black latigo
    Brush: Omega Pro
    Pre: Nivea cream
    Soap: P.160
AS: Enhanced Alt Insbruck, Speick ASB
Scent: Hermes Guerlain Mouchoir de Monsieur

Well, you already implied, in so many words, that it will be like Osage on steroids. :). I think in this humidity, and the way my body deals with it, "bring it on!"(The Wintergreen).
