Removed the Captain Titan Mild blade for a Feather Professional as I wasn't getting the performance from the Captain Titan that I'm used to getting.
I had a very good 3 pass shave with a clean up. I really enjoy the Fine American Blend.

  5. # 6 is the best for me. Anything less than #5 will just leave unshaved patches even with the feather.
  6. Shovelhead/Blue Star. First time use of the TOBS this trip. Wonderful shave. Two pass + to near BBS, but of course went for three. [IMG]

  15. That Red Tip looks amazing...
Bob, I noticed you shaved a lot with Personna 74 in the past - now I have used the injector 74's and there amazing.. Don't feel like an old blade at all. How were they in a DE? I scored 2 packs (10 blades total) in a lot of vintage blades and razors... Am I correct to say the 74's were made only in the 1970's and they were made the same every year? and I am sure a sealed pack should have no issues...I will probably use it on a super speed... I have a 1974 black handle super speed, figure I will keep vintage blade with vintage razor.

How do you lather the Fat like it's Arko? Simple. Soak the puck. Especially if it's gotten as dry as mine had. Ah, yes, I remember the day when my MWF puck never really dried out. I'd soak it until it filled its bowl, then do a quick soak each day I used it and it stayed slightly moist and ready to pop an easy lather anytime I wanted. Then, the enablers came along and started sending me soaps. And recommending them. Evil men who laughed and pointed as I added more and more choices and my faithful Fat sat unused. Enough drama for the night? Cool.

Gave the Schick P-30 one more run tonight in the Kai. I am still feeling some tugging, not bad but there, but otherwise it's a pretty smooth shave tonight. I think this will be its last night in use as I want to move onto another one I recently discovered. My overall impression of the Schick blade is........it'll do. Nothing special about it that a Feather or Kai doesn't do a bit better.

If there is enough of a price difference between the Feather and Schick, then maybe it could be a good value. So, I tried to nail down some prices on the Schick blade and the best I found (and it's tough to find them) was a bulk buy - 300 blades for $134. That makes them about 45 cents each. Feather Pro in a pack are around 65 cents (best price I found). So, 20 cents difference - not enough to make me switch anytime soon. Kai price is consistent with Feather, so, yeah, I don't see the Schick being added to my collection anytime soon. Just not a killer performance. No pun intended.

Tomorrow I'll move back to the Feather SS and a new Feather blade I found. More to come!
