I like what I've been reading about Golden so far....hadn't thought much about Colorado Springs but nothing's ruled out at this early stage. 28% humidity looks good to me!!

some I suppose, but that means the A.S. is doing its job, right? I do recall getting a lot when I used the Stirling Barbershop A.S. at the beginning of last summer. While I liked it(the fragrance), I knew right then I was using it at the wrong time of year. Same result when I had Chiseled Face Midnight Stag.

That right there is beautiful. BULLY!!!!!

You use the SS blades I bet. A carbon blade starts out smooth. The SS takes a shave to get there.

    And gators....

Bully for the 1912 love. Which blades are you using? I always keep a stasch so can not comment on the shaving under the nose problem.

That is a beautiful set up. The razor is just awesome.

I saw a lot of great pictures that I did not take time to comment on this time. I sleep a day and you guys keep blasting out the post. WOOOO Get it....

I don't find the Osage to be all that strong. Pleasant? Yes. But I also find the Stirling Glacials to be joyfully invigorating.

I recently converted to cold shaves and cannot see going back, at least until winter, which lasts all of a few weeks here.

July 19 - Grand Blade Trials [IMG] Special Edition!!

    Razor - Kai Captain
    Blade - [IMG] (4)
    Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat
    Brush - Jayaruh #46
    Post - Alum

How do you lather the Fat like it's Arko? Simple. Soak the puck. Especially if it's gotten as dry as mine had. Ah, yes, I remember the day when my MWF puck never really dried out. I'd soak it until it filled its bowl, then do a quick soak each day I used it and it stayed slightly moist and ready to pop an easy lather anytime I wanted. Then, the enablers came along and started sending me soaps. And recommending them. Evil men who laughed and pointed as I added more and more choices and my faithful Fat sat unused. Enough drama for the night? Cool.

Gave the Schick P-30 one more run tonight in the Kai. I am still feeling some tugging, not bad but there, but otherwise it's a pretty smooth shave tonight. I think this will be its last night in use as I want to move onto another one I recently discovered. My overall impression of the Schick blade is........it'll do. Nothing special about it that a Feather or Kai doesn't do a bit better.

If there is enough of a price difference between the Feather and Schick, then maybe it could be a good value. So, I tried to nail down some prices on the Schick blade and the best I found (and it's tough to find them) was a bulk buy - 300 blades for $134. That makes them about 45 cents each. Feather Pro in a pack are around 65 cents (best price I found). So, 20 cents difference - not enough to make me switch anytime soon. Kai price is consistent with Feather, so, yeah, I don't see the Schick being added to my collection anytime soon. Just not a killer performance. No pun intended.

Tomorrow I'll move back to the Feather SS and a new Feather blade I found. More to come!

That's the "season" where some of us put away the flip flops & shorts. Sometimes we wear long pants and a second shirt - the long sleeved one. You know that clear stuff we put in our tea called ice? Yankees have it laying around all over the place! Instead of buying it in 10lb bags the way us Southerners do.

A brief reprieve from the South Carolina heat and humidity. All too brief, but I adore it while it is here. I'm the crazy guy out in a sweatshirt, shorts and flip flops on the very rare occasion that we get a dusting of snow.

Of course you Houstonians are some of the few I defer to when it comes to humidity complaints.

You mean they have hail that stays on the ground for more than a few minutes?

It's basically Houston to Pascagoula for the worst of it. Then as you continue east, you start picking up weather patterns more from the Atlantic than the Gulf, which helps a -little-. Houstonians are just in an asphalt jungle without the trees, so it's a bit more concentrated - and all the carpet baggers and granola eaters that've moved here for jobs think it's Hell on Earth.

I've seen 18 inches of marble hail on the ground, took hours to melt. A few inches here not uncommon on a yearly basis. I've seen hail the size of racquetballs here. Very dangerous. Very isolated cells that wreak absolute devastation, sans tornadoes. Tornadoes here actually aren't too strong normally, we're too close to the mountains, not enough time for massive cyclone development. But by the time my storms reach @Drygulch, it's time to head for the cellar.
