Old Spice AV Ice Sport Adidas Moves In order of preference. OS has been my goto scent since the 1980's.
Hugo by Hugo Boss EDT Hands down my go to EDT... Also like Allure and Allure Sport by Chanel Don't have much of a variety of soaps/creams/ASs yet Tabac = good Sandalwood = good (TOBS SC & C&E SS) TOBS Avocado - eh, nothing wonderful, but not horrible AV Ice Blue = good/nostalgic L'Oreal ASB = good Nivea Extra Soothing ASB - eh...
Bay Rum suits me for daily use... I use it more for it's soothing properties than for the fragrance, which fades rather rapidly. When I want something special, I choose between one of the following, depending on my mood, the venue, and who I'm with... - Vetiver Extreme (Guerlain) - Pour L'Homme (Cacharel) - Lagerfeld Classic (Lagerfeld)
For going out in the evening, Quorum. Any other time, something in my collection (growing, thanks to SD and B&B folk) of bay rums!
Since aftershave scents don't last on my I put on some cologne when I am in the mood. Polo Black (wife's pick) Knize Ten (night out) Tabac (because I like it) SCS Bay Rum w/ Twist (when I need a Bay Rum and Lime fix)
I generally use aftershaves that don't have a long-lasting scent. My favorite cologne is Diptyque Tam Dao.
I haven't done the exploration of some people here. I currently use CK Eternity most days. I really liked T&H 1805 when I sampled it in store and may save up for some if I don't find something I like as well for under $75. I also just received a sample of TSD Spring Equinox, which is great for the price and the wife thinks it's as good as Eternity, though it's on the sweet side for me and not masculine enough to be a favorite of mine. I'm thinking I should have ordered the TSD signature as an aftershave instead of a SC sample, it smells like an aftershave.
TSD Signature is a great masculine scent. I can even make you a cologne of any of my fragrances. Spring Equinox isn't one of my favorites, either. It isn't bad, it just doesn't pique my interest as much as some others.
I really like Tom Ford's Absolute Amber ... but, I have the problem of champagne taste, beer budget (okay, imported beer budget). Is anyone aware of a "smell alike" to the Absolute Amber?
I was googling this to see what I could find. Not much, but I came across this. I wonder if it works.
Well, JoAnna, my little scheme didn't work the way I wanted it to. I was hoping you might say, "Oh, I can blend something up ..." Anyhow, I tried the scentmap link. As you'd expect, it can't be a universal solution. It had a couple of Tom Ford references (Black Orchid and White Patchouly), but that's as far as it went. Thanks for the effort JoAnna!
Yeah, I noticed the lack of Absolute Amber in the scent map. Just thought others might find it interesting. If I could find a list of Absolute Amber's notes, I could try "blending something up", but even then I don't have any AA to compare it to. And it definitely ain't cheap. The only Tom Ford dupe I can find online is Black Orchid.
Floris Vetiver in without a doubt my favorite. Floris Santal is number two. T&H Spanish Leather a distant third
I rotate my frags so I can't say I have a signature scent but the one I reach for if I can't decide what else to wear, is Rive Gauche Pour Homme. I find this one very versatile. I can wear it to work or when I am going out. Very nice and very manly.
I've been wanting to try the Pinaud Clubman for the longest time but there's never a sampler of it out to test and I hate to spend money on a whole bottle of something I hate. Can you give me some kind of idea what it smells like, ie is it a heavy or a light scent, sweet, citrusy, spicy, musky etc? My daily splash is of course Old Spice after shave. I also am partial to Brut splash on and Brut Cologne. For special occaisions I always get a lot of compliments if I wear Paul Sebastian or Pierre Cardin.
has gotta be cool water. i never use too much of it, i just put some on that is barely "visible", but it does the ladies gaga (at least, i'd like to fantasize that it does... lol)
