I've only tried the Island Man myself, just today. It's a good soap, though the scent is very, very light.
The green for heavier scratches and the black for stains and very fine scratches. Can be had cheap at Walmart. Don't forget to protect the lettering. BTW I also was eyeballing the Sanax, glad you got it.
The recent one I got thats deeply stained has all lettering on the base! A nice bonus and I didnt realize it at first but I can easily put a 24 in it. It took a 22 with very little sanding.
It's here! I received the replica handle for my Gem lather catcher yesterday from @Jayaruh and what a beauty it is. It looks perfect on my patent 1900 Gem junior. Thank you @Jayaruh !
I received this super minty PAL (British Made) from @MPF9 it is a real beauty Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
The first time I used an injector, I knew that I would never use my DE's again. Injector and SE's are my weapons of choice. Tom Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Primo, my daughter was looking over my shoulder as I read this and complimented your new avatar. She's a big Fallout 4 fan.
We went to the flea market today and I saw this. I really needed another brush, so I got it. It looks like it has never been used. It says: Made in Germany Regis Sterilized Vulcanized.
I just got these today! These are my first! Gillette open comb, Gem Micromatic, Auto Strop Valet, Auto Strop Valet, Gem Junior. My girlfriend bought me the Gem Junior, it looks brand new. We probably paid a little too much, $60.00 for all 5 but I don't care, they're all in great shape. Other than the Gillette, I'm not even sure what kind of blades the others use, that's how little I know.
That's cool. The Gems will take a Single Edge blade. I use the ones from CVS. They work very well. If you want to try the Valet Autostrops, you will have to order some Feather SE blades. http://jrshaving.blogspot.com/2016/01/feathers-for-autostrops.html http://jrshaving.blogspot.com/2016/01/first-shave-with-valet-auto-strop-razor.html
Thanks Jim! I've got a few of the Feather SE blades so I'm good there. With the Gems, can I break a double edge blade in half and use it that way? Edit: After looking at your web pages, I don't have the right Feather blades.
No, you can't use a DE broken in half. You need a real GEM blade. The store brand CVS is about $5 for 10, and you get lots of shaves from them. You just need to dry them off because they are carbon blades. You can get the GEM stainless coated blades, but they run about $7 for 10. I ordered my Feathers from Try a Blade. http://www.tryablade.com/blade/feather-fhs-10-spineless-single-edge-blade
