July 30, 2017 1st time using these NOS Kmart blades, there from the 80's or 90's? It felt like a schick plus platinum from the 70s, very sharp & I got 2 magazines from a lot I won a while back... I recommend Kmart blades!! Jamie's Night Shave. 1. Hot Shower - CaD soap/shampoo puck from PAA 2. Stirling M.I.T.A. Glacial soap. 3. Colorado Razor Designs brush with synth tuxedo knot. 4. PAL Injecto-Matic with new NOS K-mart Blade 5. Alum - Stirling MITA After sahave - Stirling unscented glacial balm.

July 31, 2017 Razor: Schick G8 Injector Blade: Chick (2) Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22 Cream: KMF fragrance-free Post: Alum, Listerine, WH After using the Proline blades for the past few shaves, I thought I'd dial back to something milder and go with the G8 loaded with a Chick. Effortless, issueless BBS. This has definitely been an interesting month. For the most part, it's been an Injector focus and has been enlightening. Until recently, I never really got the Injector excitement that others have. That was, at least, until I got to try Twin blades in a Schick adjustable and Chick blades in an E2. The Proline B blades also make for an exciting experience. I'm not ready to get rid of my DE's, but I will admit that I don't hear them calling as loudly.
Great Shot of de Mesquita's masterpiece! I'm glad to see these being used with the blade they were designed for....Where as, there is nothing 'wrong' with using a new SE blade in these....There's something very 'RIGHT" about using these original stropped lovelies!
I bet those original blades do really sing....when I use a new SE blade in one, it can be heard, but by using the injector blade to hold the SE blade in there....That has to be 'muting' the natural sound, aswell as probably muffling some of the tactile vibrations...I definitely agree with you...If at all possible...these great razors deserve the original blades to be used....aswell as you the shaver...
It is by far my loudest razor. It is also one of the most aggressive. That being said with the cap on your face or ever so slightly off it is so smooth. The 1924 comes close. There is a difference. 1909 wins out. I need to find more old blades. I think I have half a dozen Radio blades some place. As I am able to hone these up. Who knows how long this one blade will last. I will keep track. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Hey Tom, what's your technique for honing them up? I have some old Damaskeene blades that appear to be unused and would be real curious to use them. However, I would want to hone them first.
I have a few to hone. I will post up how I do it and what hone device I find works best. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
