Haul for August Rule:

Our own Jorvaljr and I did a small blade swap. He sent me a nice old Personna Precision blade (wicked cool looking blade, I look forward to shaving with that one) and some equally nice Philco brand carbons. I wanted them for the label but they're also mint so they too will be shaved with eventually.

These are about as minty as they come. I really do not think they were ever used. The tension spring in the head was too tight initially to properly close with a vintage blade inserted. Shiny, shiny, and nary a scratch anywhere to be found. I am a very happy guy to be adding these to my den. A big tip of the hat to @twhite for his magnanimous assist and to the ever ready @Billyfergie for his transshipment and loving care of some wedge blades he sent along for the ride - and for holding onto to this without absconding with it.

Well, this arrived in the mail last night, but I didn't open it till after midnight GMT, so it counts for an August haul

It's Maggards green apple soap from my good friend @Herm2502 . If you like the scent of green apples.... If you like the smell of an apple orchard in the Berkshires in mid October, then this soap is for you. Intense? Without a doubt! Is it for everyone? Nope!

I can't wait to try it out later this week.

This beautiful razor arrived today:



It has a stamp: DAN R. MAKRAUER B. S. CO. PITTSBURGH PA. GERMANY
What I was able to figure out so far: At the beginning of the 20th century there was a Makrauer Barber Supply Company in Pittsburgh. So I guess these guys imported razors from Germany and sold them under their own label.
