I've had this Wade & Butcher for a while, and while I've found some information on it (pre-1890), I don't know much about the Masonic symbols or how the design might help date this razor: the designs are only on one side. The scales are two different colors, and I wonder if one is horn and the other one wood: The lack of "England" tells me this is pre-1890. What other info can y'all tell me about this thing? Would the pins help to date it?
That's pretty sweet find! I'm interested to see if anyone can decode it haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't need to decipher what the symbols mean. I only need to know if certain symbols or the art style came about at a certain time to help me narrow down when it was made. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
We used to have an active member who was a Mason but he hasn't been on the forum in several months. Maybe a visit to your local lodge?
I can't tell you what the masonic symbols means on the straight razor, because I'm breaking my masonic obligation sorry I can't help you
Aaaaaah well @Steve C that because a Mason can't tell you when they're open unless your a Freemason ............. to be able to tell you the time.
