Mitchell's Wool Fat Soap Jayaruh #155 Brush Portland Razor Company Siren Lucky Tiger Florida Water Aftershave Have fun!
I open my August contribution by reporting that I had nasty chin cut..guess I'll have to swish more of the Stirling Wintergreen(or ANY soap I use)in that area.
2 August 2017 Wool Fat Wednesday OLD Blade Focus Shave Pre: Hot water, soap from the puck and a hot towel Razor: 1911 Gillette Single Ring OLD Type Blade: Rapira Platinum Lux Brush: Omega 6212 Silvertip Soap: The Fat Post: Hot/Cold rinse, alum block, cold towelx2, Dominello Vitali Calming Post Shave Moisturizer After Shave: Herself's favorite, Aramis Took the day off today so I can drive my bride and her girlfriend to EWR so they can catch a flight to Italy. Still did a shave so I can get this blade audition in on time. It's Wednesday so that means Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap. Changed things up a little and used my Omega Silvertip instead of one of my boars. The Silvertip did a great job and in no time I had enough later for a 10 pass shave. Settled for my usual 2.5 though. The OLD/Platinum Lux is doing an outstanding job on the weekday stubble. Smooth and comfortable. Splashed on some Aramis and my day off was on! Have a good 'un y'all!
Ah ok. We are just across the river from Augusta, GA. We have a plethora of medical systems here. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk

August 2nd Gillette 'Black Beauty' w Nacet (1) TGN Boar/ Maple Handle Jeeves Apothecary Thayers Chatillon Lux Unconditional Surrender AS First day of Adjustable August with my SA-109. Chose the boar after so many boar jokes the last few days...Haven't used this razor in several months and clicked it to 7 for the first 2 passes, 5 for the third. Finished with a 3 pass near BBS, but did have a few weepers around my adam's apple. They died with the witch hazel and alcohol. No need for the styptic. It certainly didn't feel like I hadn't used it in months. Very pleasant shave and will look to go to setting Neal next shave. Finished off with this excellent AS and all is good. Have a great day all!
The brush looks great Jason. It seems that you've grown to like the AS more overtime. Would you buy more of their product?
SOTN August 1st RazoRock Baby Smooth Gillette Platinum (4) Stirling 24mm Synthetic Dirty Deeds Bay Run and Lime Stirling Iced Pineapple AS I think this will be the last attempt with the Dirty Deeds soap sample that Adam @Drygulch sent me. I don't know what the issue is but I cannot get a good lather out of this soap, which is a shame because I really like the scent and so does my wife. On top of that while trying to face lather it last night before even putting the razor to my face I was starting to feel a little bit of a burning sensation. By the time I was done with the shave I had a good bit of irritation going. Luckily a splash of Stirling Iced Pineapple and its menthol blast extinguished the burn and made my face blissfully numb. When the chill faded the irritated feeling was gone. Have a great day my friends!
I have managed to get decent lather out of mine by overloading the soap which has eaten through the soap at a rapid pace.
Thank you Jason. I bought this brush on the B&B BST at a fantastic price when I first got into wet shaving. The guy had refinished it and installed this knot. There are some scratches but overall it is in really good shape.
I've been loading the heck out of it too, and in truth there is probably only one shave left in it. It doesn't get creamy for me at all. Its either thick and pasty or light and airy. I wonder if its the wonderfully hard water we have here in CO.
