I want try Mitchell's Wool Fat but haven't pulled the trigger yet due to how tough of a time it seems to give people with Lather. Is it really as tough as people make it seem? Sent from my XT1710-02 using Tapatalk
Gotta catch up on the day in a bit. Not sure I will even shave tonight. My daughter is going to be a senior in high school, and her boyfriend of two years graduated last spring. He is leaving for college in a couple weeks, and the poor girl is all but building nests out of twigs and bright colored cloth strips while she preens tail feathers, and spending the rest of her day crying. I MOSTLY kid. Well, sort of. BUT, he is over for supper tonight, and I barely got a quick rinse/shower in before I had to start supper. He is a really good kid though, so I guess it's all good.
My WSP brush is getting a bit hard(as opposed to soft). Should I give it a little "shampoo"?(I read somewhere that washing it that way can help). That's the Pure Badger, by the way.
Thursday shave, off focus I decide to break out my favourite DE and my favourite smelling soap today. It was day 2 for the Iridium Super and I wish I had just used a new blade, I forgot how sensitive the 2011 R41 is to blades. It really prefers a fresh blade. There was a little tugging but four passes later no blood, a tickle from the alum and a very smooth face. This brush has the nicest hair of all my brushes but it small, I usually use it a night to clean my face, if only it were larger I would use for my shaves more often. Irritation A Closeness A+ Razor: 2011 R41 with Iridum Super blade(2) Brush: Culmak Pre: Nivea Soap: AdP the original version that smells wonderful AS: Razorock XXX, Speick ASB Scent: YSL Rive Gauche
Give it a try. I didn't find it any more difficult than most soaps. If you want to try something similar that is a touch easier to use I would suggest Haslinger Schafmilch.
I'll give it a go when I order more soap. It's going to be a while though I'm trying to finish a few things off first Sent from my XT1710-02 using Tapatalk
Can't hurt. I'd follow up with conditioner. I've used both to get funk out of new brushes and help break them in.

I get light and airy lather with it as well. That said, I used mine today. I absolutely love the scent. And even though the lather was airy, it somehow still had decent cushion. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
I had a sample of the Mentholated unscented balm. It was nice stuff. The menthol was on the lighter side of their scale. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Last night's beard reduction was brought to you by: Gillette Fat Boy Sputnik blade (number of uses undetermined) Dirty Deeps Green Tweed soap Witch Hazel Scent: John Varvatos Dark Rebel I kind of handicapped my shave today. First off, I opened up the Fat Boy to see what blade was in it. The Sputnik looked pretty clean, so I rolled with it. The result was less stellar than yesterday's shave with the Black Beauty. I will use it again tonight with a fresh blade to give it a better chance at equal results. The Dirty Deeds soap: this stuff is an enigma. I have the Green Tweed, and its scent is one of my favorites. I will probably buy their bath soap in this scent. I like it that much. But the lather...I can get copious amounts of it, but it is invariably light and foamy. If I try to add water, it goes straight to total breakdown. That said, while it wasn't the slickest shave ever, it still was usable and provided pretty good cushion. The odd part is that after I finished the first pass and rinsed, there was sufficient residual slickness to touch up comfortably. It didn't look like it, but it was there. I will for sure finish it up. With a little reformulation on the lather this scent would be a real winner for me. After last night's bristle exodus from the Stirling Boar brush, I counted only 2 tonight. Hopefully now I can focus on just lathering. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
I know of Johns Creek. My oldest son was a cubicle dwelling tech support for the cable company. They had an office/warehouse in the area. When the weather cools off I'll be back to tobacco and leather. Citrus works good for me during the heat. Love to see the VDH bowl! I have received Orders to continue recruiting. All you 30 Day Crewers have developed too much technique. The shave god's demand spilt blood. Or when you get a moment Wall-O-Text is a thing now. Challenge accepted!
Hijack! Got Muskies where you live? This story is a couple of weeks old, but is kind of a cool read: http://www.bemidjipioneer.com/opinion/4306839-minnesota-whodunit-chomp-girls-foot-points-muskie
But I have watched you crazy SOB's noodle for them. They seem to be lacking in the tooth department. Although having eaten an awful lot of both, I really do like me some catfish.
