  3. I was oh, so close!
I was born in Van Buren, Maine. Mom said she could have thrown a rock from her hospital room and hit Canada, literally right on the river.

  5. If Steve's mother had thrown that rock, I wonder if she would have hit a moose.

  6. I have no doubt.
  7. We were let down by our ticketing vendor on my busiest day of the year. It made for a very unpleasant 12.5 hour day.

Margaritas for dinner and then some sleep.

  10. Got some calls from some medical specialists relative to my Mom's care. She'll be getting a walker(one of her issues is Restless Leg Syndrome). Apparently, she's received a lot of attention so far. I'm going out tomorrow. Hospice and the facility are in good cahoots.

  12. I did something I rarely do; I got my hair styled. I got it French-braided, as we are going to a wedding later this afternoon.

  15. Goed gedaan, jochie! [good on ya, matey!]. I've got a listening book of "The Hobbit, or There and Back Again" in Dutch. As well as TLOTR. Shall I wetransfer them to ya?

As for myself: work has been quite a distraction lately. High season in the canned food business. Peas, carrots, chick peas, broad beans (yuck!) and next week the green beans and flageolet beans seasons start. So extra long working hours and doing overtime. But I have good hopes to renew my contract. :)

The bustle makes weeks ane even months pass by with the blink of an eye. Spare time is scarce because I still need to recharge a lot. I guess that's a remnant of the burn out. So I try to sleep 8 hours a day like a good boy. The few free waking hours left are mostly spent on the couch dozing behind Netflix or Youtube. No energy to undertake anything much.

I even (whispers) *shave less often* :scared003:

On the other hand, I am honing my shavette shaving technique and am enjoying it! I still end up with a last pass using a DE, but that is because the hairs on my neck grow sideways and refuse to be shaved completely unless it is done ATG. And I can't figure out how to do a straight shave pass left to right (and vice versa) along my neck.

And I've got two straights which I want to sharpen as well. One is almost - but not quite - sharp enough for a comfy shave. Time and energy. Time and energy. Oh well. It can wait. :)

    Hoping ya'll are doing swell!

  17. How about having a Dutch copy of TH - TaBA (the book) alongside? Perhaps as well as an English version? :D
  18. Sure, that is so generous of you! I'm on vacation at the moment and I'll be back home later this week and we can work out details. If we're talking about print books, then please let me at least pay for shipping.
  19. Still waiting for breakfast to arrive while watching team oranje voetball (Dutch women's soccer team) the restaurant tv.
  20. It's been a busy couple of days. Yesterday, we went to my niece's wedding. The bride & groom seem very happy together and the event was enjoyable. I also (finally) got to meet my great-niece & great nephew, who live on the other side of the country. She is a 15 -month old cutie pie. Her brother (my oldest niece's stepson) is bright, warm and affectionate. And he loves being a big brother.

Today, I shot at the New Jersey State Senion Olympics. I shot a 770/900. It's not as good as last year's score, but, considering how tired I am, I'm still pretty happy. The people at the event are nice & I had a great time. BTW, I was yet again the only entrant in my category, so I am yet again a gold-medalist.
