Thank you, I guess Shave Fu is off somewhere else in the internet universe improving photos. I just take the pics so I can remember what I used. I am very happy with the new handle, @Jayaruh skills brought this razor back into the rotation.

That handle is great! @Jayaruh is the man.

 

There are no training wheels on that one. It is essentially shaving with a devette.

I am getting ready to catch a plane this morning, so I have a carry on set up for the next few days. The Mach 3 did a decent enough job as I got a DFS out of it. A little while post shave, and I can detect just a bit of irritation. Post shave irritation was pretty normal when I was a regular cart user. This is not too close to that, just a bit more than I am used too. I hope everyone has a great day!

Why are weekends so short. I am really enjoying this brush handle and knot combo. The handle is a little on the heavy side which makes loading super easy and the Tuxedo knot whips up lather just as easy. Two passes, XTG followed by ATG, followed by touch ups produced a very good shave this morning. As much as I like Gem blades in general they do not seem to get my neck as clean as the Feathers. Perhaps I need to investigate clipping the Gem blades so they will lock in place. Since the Feather works so well, I am not sure I am willing to invest the time and effort clipping blades at this time. I finished up the shave with a splash of F&C Shambala. I hope everyone has a great Monday.

Nice and easy shave with the Black Hawk and Stirling Iced Pineapple. Subtle menthol effect from the soap and splash. It's nothing like a Glacial, but rather just enough to keep it interesting. This is a top-notch soap in my opinion. All Stirling is good but Iced Pineapple is a terrific scent and the little hint of menthol is quite pleasant.

I fully intended to shave today with the J1 and Proline combo but, at the last minute, decided to go with the G1 and Personna. The shave was smooth enough but something was off as it took two passes and additional touchup to get to a marginal DFS. I suspect I need to put this one aside for a while and come back to it later.

7 August 2017 Menthol Monday OLD Blade Focus Shave

Pre: A LOT of cold water followed by some hot, some cream from the mug and a hot towel
Razor: 1911 Gillette OLD Single Ring
Blade: Voskhod, pride of the Rodina!
Brush: Rubberset 303
Cream: C O Bigelow Premium Shaving Cream
Post: Hot/Cold water rinse, alum block, cold towelx2, Dominello Vitali Calming Post Shave Moisturizer
After Shave: Proraso Green Lozione Dopobarba

So, in the middle of the night, my MiL wakes me up. She's having difficulty breathing. Well, this is not good as she has COPD and AFib. So I call 911 and the bus comes and takes her to the ER.
Stay for a while. It becomes obvious that she's gonna be admitted. Go home. Talk to my FiL who is 95 and legally blind. Send a text to Herself in Italy. Long story short I got about 3 hours sleep.
Thank God it's Menthol Monday.
When the buzzer went off at 0545, went into the den and commenced to drenching my head in cold water. For appearances sake a little hot water and I lathered up the COB with my newly acquired Rubberset brush. For being from the 1950's? it did a great job in the Old Spice mug. 2.5 careful passes later I had a near BBS shave courtesy of the OLD/Voskhod duo. The brush only shed two bristles.
Splashed on some Proraso Green A/S and feeling a lot more human, headed for work and several coffee/espresso cups
Hope y'all have a better day than I.
