I need to stop acquiring things and sell some for a change. I will resist new limited editions and enjoy what I have.

Today, I am grateful that it's a new month.

Today, I am grateful to finally be home after a long day.

I am grateful that at my rather advanced age I can sleep through the evening without having to answer the call of nature.

I am thankful I have a job and it gives me the opportunity to travel. I could be doing a lot worse than spending time in an airport waiting for weather delays.

Today I am thankful for helpful coworkers who are invested in the job of working with kids and doing all we can to help them grow.

Today's gratitude: I'm thankful for some quiet time I have built in my schedule in the mornings before I leave for work. I spend some time praying, reading, and reflecting. It helps me be more mentally prepared for the day and helps me keep it all in perspective. It's not a lot of time, about 25-30 minutes, and it goes by too fast. But I am thankful for it nonetheless.

I'm grateful to the gang here at TSD for bestowing a really funny CT upon me. When you're part of any group, you don't really belong until the tribe nails your feet to the floor like this.

I am so grateful my wife is home from her trip.

I am grateful for good kids. Some friends of ours are having teenager troubles that would make blood shoot from your eyes.

Makes you take little, everyday things into perspective.

Corollary:

We should be grateful for evil bad kids, as they make our own look better.

People complain that I tell the truth when they ask how I'm doing, instead of lying to them and saying that everything is sunshine and roses. The thing is, even though I'm often frustrated, tired, angry, and feeling abused, I've tried to never take daily things for granted. I may not have much money, for example, but I've put a roof over the head of my family, have food to eat, things to drink, and a car to take me to various places for work.

Almost every time I sit down for food, I'm grateful to be able to have it. Never needed to formalise it out loud, though.
