1. Great looking brush! I have to think on it.

  2. Took JR#161 out for a spin on Menthol Monday. As usual it whipped up a great lather.

  3. Jayaruh #96 was delivered today. This is my second Jayaruh brush, joining #163. It may or may not be the only brush Jim has made out of Purple Heart. I really like the color of the handle, and it holds a 26mm two band knot. Jim told me this handle was made before he had a lathe, so you are looking at old world craftsmanship right there. Thanks Jim.
The first photo is a close up of #96 and the second one shows it next to #163, a brush Jim named the White Queen. I guess I get to name #96 and I am thinking it reminds me of a Plum.

  6. Wow, you have JRBAD for sure. At least you have something to show for it.

  7. I got # 111 and 112 on Monday; both Purple Heart. I'll post them after I get in and install the knots.

  8. Thanks for clearing that up. There are a few Jayaruh brushes that I couldn't find information on, and I admit to rushing my research a bit. I can't wait to see them.

  11. Thanks. I have used 61, 164, 187 and 200. All perform well, but 200 (2-band) and 61 (omega boar knot) are my favorites...so far. I need to break in and use 184 and 169 (169 is wife's...maybe). There are so many shaves a guy needs to do and it takes time to use them all. It does give me something to look forward to.

  15. Used my JR#130 with the Maggard synthetic knot to lather up Maggard Limes & Bergamot soap. Wonderful shape that fits my hand just right. Thank you Jim!

  17. Thank you, Sir!
I cut a low hanging limb from a cypress tree in my fathers citrus orchard. After some time drying, and I shipped a few pieces to our Craftsman. I discussed with Jim my desire for a handle similar to an Omega Pro #10098. He used his skills to craft up that handle & another similar (#131 I think).
The photo is clipped from my SOTD. I use my Android phone and a free app called Snapseed. Then a little photo manipulation with a 2001 version of Paint Shop Pro. One day I'll throw together a light box and up my game by loosing the shadows.
  18. My #59 is in the on-deck circle.....probably will use it next week sometime. (Probably? Sometime? I sound very sure of myself, don't I? lol).
