  1. Thanks Mike. :happy088: I'll tell her. :)
  2. I recall SEptember (single edge) as well as an emphasis on drug store aftershaves? I recall @NCoxSTL writing "it smells like a drug store September" on his posts.

I'll be in on SE razors. I'm also considering using only Stirling soaps during the month. A Stirling SEptember.

  3. SEptember is indeed Single Edge!. And, as has been mentioned, last year we added the "drug store" aftershave emphasis. I don't see why we should break tradition!

Today was one of those that is hard to describe as anything but piss-poor. Equip was breaking down, fighting rain, I screwed up and sent a crew to the wrong place, but they didn't know it until everything was unloaded, then I came home and my wife told me we got a letter from the IRS, and they found a mistake from 2015 and I owe them a bunch of money...... My accountant says, "yep, sorry", and she is making the correction with the state so that I can pay them some more money I don't have.

So I really needed a hot shower and a nice shave. This one delivered. I made enough lather for about seven passes, and did six. Well not really, but I spent a long time cleaning up little spots, and trying to just focus on the sound of the big hollow grind. It is amazing how much I can really Zen out when I use a straight. The "Hold my Beer" thrill is gone, but a guy can really pull in and focus.

Hope you all have a good rest of the evening.

  11. I bit a early and taking care of both with this month of the OCMM. I probably should have cooled the jets as I know I will want a change next month.
  12. Some days you're the bug and some days you're the windshield. Maybe tomorrow will go better for you. At least the shave helped put things right.

  13. . It's all good. Sometimes a guy just needs to make a little effort to put things into their proper perspective.
  14. Thanks very much Keith.
  15. Most definitely, and lucky for them!
  16. Great picture, Doug! Congratulations to your granddaughter! That is pretty impressive.
  17. Beautiful razor, Jared!
  18. Sorry to hear about your terrible day, tomorrow can only be better. I find shaving with a straight requires so much attention it helps me leave my stress behind for a little while. The Dovo Bismark is a wonderful razor, one of my favorites, easy maintain, easy to shave with and looks cool.
