1. I was watching that one. It should clean up very nicely. Good price too. :happy088::happy088::happy088:

  2. I mentioned in the what are you waiting on to arrive thread that it always worries me when I win an auction at a really good price. I start thinking I missed something in the pics or description or something. Hopefully it turns out to be a really good buy.

  7. Here's some good news on a Friday afternoon: Postman dropped off a package from Goodwill and lo & behold!
    The missing Greaves!
Last Sunday I sent a email to ShopGoodwill about the wrong razor I received. Monday they sent an email with a return label and out in the mail went the wrong razor.
I wasnt expecting this razor to be found so I was anticipating an eventual refund. Way to make it right, Goodwill!
    About this Greaves:
Mid-to-late (pre-1890) 19th century; double-shoulder full-hollow ground; a hair under 7/8" wide. Tip is slightly chipped and I'll round it over. Evident rust along the edge but wont know how serious until I begin to remove it. Black rust n the tail. Celluloid scales are not likely original but are in very good shape. I'll probably put some scales on this razor more 'from the era' in style and use these on a more modern blade.

  17. I've never seen a serrated razor before it looks like you will still have a nice blade after it's edge is brought back. I look forward to seeing it restored.

  18. It kind of looks like a bread knife. But, unfortunately I've seen too many of these, up close and personal. I will probably make a nice smiling blade out of it. If the steel is good, and its somewhat straight, it should be a good shaver.

  19. I thought so.
  20. That will be nice. I love smiling blades.
