  1. That Wolfman is a stunner in that photo, Clint! Get well soon.
  2. Super photo effect again, Jim! Are you going to stretch that Big Ben to 20 as well?
  3. Thank you!
  4. Thank you Jason. I finished up what I had to do at the office so I am going to just try to get some rest.
  5. Nice looking set up and Black Beauty, Jason.
  6. Thanks, Jim. The Black Beauty is quite used and the handle is not as crisp and black as the picture makes it look.
  7. Thank you, Jason. I am not sure how long I'll push this blade. I'll get what I can out of it, but it would not surprise me if it doesn't make it quite that far.
  8. Wow!!! All around beautiful setup, and great photo!!
  9. Dark Monday August 21 - just shaving

    Rockwell 6s on plate #3 / Topaz Platinum ( 2 )
    Jason's non - 30DC Cypress Badger brush
My Red Green Duct Tape Special frankensoap
Alum and Supply Provision Juniper Post Shave Balm (now aka Sierra Ridge)

I just grabbed tried and true items for an enjoyable no-surprises shave today -- and that's exactly what I got. Two passes and a quick cleanup swipe under my chin to reach what I consider a working BBS without any irritation.

I see that I matched brushes with @jtspartan today. We both ended up fitting badger knots into our cypress 30DC LE "rejected seconds" handles and the brushes now look nearly identical. I continue to be impressed by the two-band badger 24mm knot I got from Maggards for surprisingly little money. Thickly stuffed, lots of backbone but still soft, and I think it's only lost one hair so far.

And now that I am clean, smooth and refreshed, I am off to chase the eclipse -- all the way into my backyard... It gets to 70% coverage here and peaks right around noon.
  10. I'm impressed with the 2 band WD 24mm I transplanted in mine as well. The cypress from @RyX is certainly beautiful wood.
  11. It certainly is beautiful wood - when it falls into the hands of someone who knows how to work it well. That WD knot in your brush looks like it has bloomed out well while still retaining lots of backbone. My first badgers were a big disappointment, enough so I decided to give up on badgers entirely. But then I decided to give the Envy White two-band a try after reading numerous glowing reviews in these threads. And it was so good I decided to risk one of the other two-bands as well, and went with Maggards. It looks like Whipped Dog would have been an equally great option. I guess I have decided that badger brushes really aren't the biggest con job in wetshaving after all ;).
  12. That is good.

On focus for a 71% eclipse here in South West Louisiana. Partly cloudy conditions but without totality I'm not missing much. Pulled together a Menthol Monday Super Lather that was quite satisfying. Fresh Russian Steel gifted me a nick in my chin and an all over smooth DFS. Alum was pleasantly quiet, the Rub refreshing, and the Green finished cool.
Good Solar Viewing & Shaves Y'all!
  14. Good picture and setup with a beautiful brush.

I missed photo upload Sunday, so here you go, my beautiful girls!
  16. Amazing pictures of an outstanding family Randy. Thank you for remembering to share them with us.
  17. Amazing to me how all of us ugly old men have such beautiful families! :D
  18. August 21, 2017

    Razor: Schick L1 Injector
    Blade: Schick Proline B
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22
    Cream: KMF fragrance-free
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

I ended up in a bit of a rush this morning so I decided to forego a second shave with the STD-301 and go with something quick and consistent. A nice, near-BBS with no issues.
  19. Thank you!
