  1. I got an Omega 10049 on sale. I added it onto an order I was making to take advantage again of the $8.99 Nacet deal on IB. It will be going in a Black Walnut handle, as I've got some 2" stock that will make a few handles. Not sure when exactly, as I've got a few projects to complete first, including some shaving bowls that I said I'd pif one of. My guess would be 3 weeks or so.

  4. The unintended consequences of her action is that now you have room for a lot more stuff!

The fat lady hasn't sung yet, John, but she certainly has warmed up quite a bit and the chances are pretty good that she'll be singing an "Ode to Pharoah's Dreamsicle" soon. To give perspective these are the 19 Stirling soaps that I liked enough to buy. There are probably another 10 that I tried in sample or bath form and PIFd, used, or are awaiting an untimely demise in my shower. There are very few pucks left unturned at this point.
  6. Razor: Merkur 34C
    Blade: Personna Super (3)
Brush: El Druida Te Vigilo w/Manchurian
    Soap: Route 66 Twisted Tweed
    A/S: Folsom & Co. Capri

Three passes with a very light touch up for a near BBS. Really enjoy the Twisted Tweed shave soap. Heavy rain most of the day car in the shop for a new clutch. All is good.
    Sorry for the indoor picture.

  7. Good idea for hanging razors. :happy096:
  8. Great photo Doug. Maybe the weather will improve enough for you to get in a round of golf.

  9. Thanks. It's a belt rack from Home Depot and works great!
  10. Thanks Clint. I'm not golfing this week. I'm going to the LPGA Canadian Open all week until Sunday.
  11. Sounds like a great time. Have fun.

  14. Careful, next step is AC razors, then straights, and you won't hardly own a DE razor anymore.
  15. Beautiful picture, Doug!
  16. Thank you, Jared!

    - Futur Knockoff
    - Stirling Kong
    - Stirling Piacenza Soap and AS

A few quick thoughts: I only even own two DE razors anymore that aren't loaned out/gifted, never to be seen again. This Futur clone is one of them, an EJ is the other. I am just stupid happy with how it shaves. It is like a fast track to BBS every time you pick it up. It does need a super light touch ATG, but otherwise is pretty phenomenal. I would consider buying another actual Futur, just for the moral support.

I do not think the Stirling Kong has much more of a future on my shelf. The knot is just fine, better than fine actually, but I just really don't care for the handle. It is gigantic around and uncomfortable at the base. Sharp like a plastic cheese knife. I would buy the other Stirling 26 with the rounder handle, but in the case of this one, look for a PIF someday soon.

I am BBS, Piacenza clean, and well fed. What else could a dude ask for?

Hope you all have a good night.
  18. Nice set up. I haven't used the Futur clone, but if it shaves like the Futur, i agree it is a top notch shave. A BBS is easily achieved with just a little effort.

Does Stirling offer the 26" knot in a different handle?
  19. Welcome to the slippery slope. The Dark Side awaits
