Here's Before & After pics of my GEM MMOC, bought today for $10. I've got the blades from when I found my Featherweight, so come SEptember, I'm ready! Same age as my NEW SC
Nice razor. Why wait until SEtember? Beat the rush and start now. I am using one this month for my 30 day challenge. Mine is a pretty ugly brassed silver one that I used for about 8 months in 2012 then forgot about. If I remember correctly, I paid about $2 for it at a flea market. Great shaver.
Well, I just started Adjustable August. I've been doing blade auditions for my OLD and I'd like to reconnect with some of my other tools. Now I've got a Slim to play with too, so yeah, SEptember.
I have the nickel OCMM that I break out every once in a while; really don't find it as aggressive as some say. I recall liking the shave of the Clog Pruf but not enough to keep it. The guiding eye and all that came later shaved basically the same to me.
I think that range of years might be right. It's all I can find from a but of digging around myself. I just used one for the first time myself a few hrs ago...great little shaver! It was a lot of fun to use and gave a very smooth shave. I keep sideburns and a mustache, and it maneuvers around nicely for trimming and neatening. Have you used yours yet?
Just be sure you're paying attention to how much pressure you're applying. Took me a while to master it.
Average condition, no case I have paid anywhere from $3-$15 for most micromatics. With a case or in great shape a little more.
$15 - $25. There are enough around you might get lucky and get one for less depending on your eBay skills. A lot of bullet tips aren't identified as such and sell for less. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Have not. I actually don't shave. I use a trimmer for my neck, but I maintain a full beard year round. I just find the old razors interesting and like to collect them all. It's great how much went into them. Now everything is just plastic junk. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ahhh, gotcha. That's really cool. Razors are one of those examples of tools ppl keep trying to reinvent, only to find there's little or no room for improvement. I prefer shaving with vintage myself, though theres obviously a huge modern user group too, of course. Ive always liked old lighters too, and have thought about looking into collecting them someday lol.
