  2. Perfecto 4/8 Full Hollow

It took me a couple of tries, but I did put a really good edge on this razor. It is just so thin, so small and so light, it isn't going to be around for too long.
  3. I hear ya. I had a really nice Japanese 4/8, but had to punt it for the same reason.
  4. I have the same preference for larger, heavier razors (see HERE ) .4/8" width on razors require some adjustment on my part and I tend to choose other sizes.
  5. Do you remember my address?

  8. The plan for this razor was to buy it, practice with it on the stones and then PIF it or sell it for cost to a newbie. Makes me wonder if I'd be doing a newbie any favors giving it to him. Seems like kind of a hard razor to shave with, compared to just about everything else I have tried. Maybe good for a guy with the beard of a pre-teen Swedish boy.

I need to keep buying razors just to have something to hone on.
  9. This one was only two grams lighter (34) than a 6/8 Hollow that I really like a lot, but as I said in another thread, it felt like cutting brush with a weed whip.
  10. I referred to my 4/8 as a "blue tip" version of a str8.

Nice shave this morning. This is probably my favorite shaving set up right now. I really like the razor and the brush, soap included but it might just be the flavor of the month.

Still on a learning curve with straight razors, but so far doing Ok and no weepers on this, my third shave with the Rocket straight. Did two passes, first WTG and a combo of WTG & XTG for the second pass. I'm still trying to get better control with my left hand, especially with having a goatee, so I'll use my right hand also on it. Still having a slight problem with going ATG as the razor wants to get hung up while doing it, especially on my neck. Looking at my face, it looks good, but I can feel stubble while going up ATG with my fingers. Just going to need more straight shaves to get it better, so not a bad shave really.

  16. Great progress, Jim. Remember to reduce the angle going ATG. You need that blade to slide underneath the whiskers:)
  17. Yeah, I was going for that. But every once in a while, because of nerve damage from a fall on my back, my hand and arm will sort of get a paralyzed feeling and basically lose strength in certain positions. But it's something I'll have to overcome and work around.
  18. A wonderful shave from the Wosty in every way this evening. They should all be this good. :happy036:
