Probably my Rooney 3/1; but, I've been recently falling back in love with my Kent BK4 (very different experience, I know), so it's getting a lot more play.
Mine is almost identical, but I have it in super. Excellent brush. I have the faux horn handle, and it is beautiful!
I feel like the poor country cousin. I have a Rooney 3/1, a generic pure badger and a VDH boar. My most used? = VDH boar.
The Rooney 3/1 is an outstanding brush You have great taste Poppi! one of these days I will have to try a boar brush
OK. Quick like............... Which is better: Simpsons or SimpFix ?? Dont think too long about it. Which do you prefer, brutha ??
This is and odd one but honestly gets more use than any other b/c of its versatility. The B&B Essential. Cheap but nice and it works great for soaps and creams in the bowl or works great on the face.
Knotty Badger Royal Brush in Best. http://www.theshaveden.com/forum/showpost.php?p=105194&postcount=61
I know it seems / sounds weird, but my basic rotation is three brushes - each of which is a B&B 2006 Limited Edition finest silver tip. Ken
Ken, that is beyond weird. For me, I have 2 that get used heavily, but this one seems to get most use:
Lately, it's been a Simpson Commodore X3. However, this is because of its density and size -- fits nicely into a container for travel in a dopp kit used at the gym after PT. Really, though, I have too many to have a solid "go-to" standard. On Friday, for instance, I switched out the Commodore for a Shavemac LE Horn which is just a great brush.
I actually have 2 go to brushes... Chubby 1 Best Badger and my Rooney 1/1 in Finest.....Great Brushes
For a long time I was alternating between a CH1 in best and a PJ2 in super. Recently I acquired a CH3 in super which I used exclusively, until I acquired a T3. The T3 is my current "go to" brush.
The Vulfix Mayfair has been my go to for a long time. However, my new 41 is starting to see a lot of action lately. **Note: Images were swiped from the Vulfix web site.
Having owned all three Chubby models in both original and new Simpsons... the Vulfix one is the better IMO. The new ones are made very well and very dense. No complaints from me
For those of you who use a pricier brush than the C&E BBB and have used the C&E BBB, how would you rate it.? I don't make a lot of money and support children in higher education and I would be willing to go with a more expensive brush if it really was much better than the C&E BBB that I am using. When I was using my Tweezerman I was impressed by it, but the C&E BBB blew me away. I was given an AOS Pure Badger that felt a little rough on my face and I gave it to my youngest son. So, what say ye?
