I've been focusin' with you all even though I haven't posted much this month. I used my Mongoose the first half of the month with Feather Professional blades and the last half with the Super Professional blades. I swap blades after seven shaves, although I'm sure they could last longer.
Most of my shaves have been two passes plus touch-ups. I performed one three-pass shave and, as I recall, one one-pass shave. The quality of my shaves were better with the Super Pro blades. I can feel more blade exposure against my face, and the blade itself feels stiffer. I think
@clint64 refers to these shaves as "scary close." If I'm very careful with pressure and skin stretching, I can obtain a great shave using this setup without any weepers. I even tried blade buffing on my neck during the second pass, and that seemed to work very well. I'm also experimenting carefully with ATG strokes on the bulb of my chin and my upper lip.
I love the weight and feel of the Mongoose, and the LE brush has changed my mind about synthetic knots. It is simply fantastic.
I used up a tube of Palmolive shave cream this month - more cookies, brownie points, and unicorns, please - and then switched over to the CF Lavender. I'm a big fan of both creams, even though they span the price spectrum. It just goes to show that anyone can get a fantastic shave with some very reasonably priced products.
I hope you all have had a fantastic month! My prayers are with those that have been affected by Hurricane Harvey.
