Friday's SE Shave Proraso Pre Shave Palmolive Classic Shaving Cream B 400 by Tom GEM Bullet-Tip CVS SE CWR Thayer's Lemon WH Barbasol AS I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Palmolive Classic Shaving Cream face-lathered well with the B 400 badger brush by Tom. I did the two passes with the GEM Bullet-Tip and CVS SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Barbasol AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
WEDNESDAY'S SHAVE Prep: Taconic Bay Rum Mentholated Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic Blade: Pol-Silver Brush: Fine angel hair synthetic Soap: Gustafsons Stubble Management Post: Local Gent Fields & Streams balm What a wonderful shave yesterday. This soap made by Square One Soapworks is truly a hidden gem, it is a vegan formula that makes a lather that is a bit similar to Shannon's Soaps in consistancy of lather. The scent of Stubble Management is peppermint and anise, although I usually don't care for black licorice scents, this is a perfect blend of the 2 notes and they work well together. Had a big grin on my face because the shave was so enjoyable. Finished off with Local Gent balm which was the perfect way to end this peaceful shave. THURSDAY SHAVE Prep: Occams Crushed Lime Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic Blade: Pol-Silver Brush: Maggard 30mm synthetic Soap: First Canadian Maximo Gomez Cuba Post: Peach Thayer's WH, Reef Point Admiralty balm Had a refreshing shave this afternoon. Love the bright citrus tobacco scent of this soap, and this newer formula makes a great lather. Did end up with a bit of irritation on the neck but it may have been user error. Finished off with Admiralty balm and it felt great on the skin and has a nice amount of menthol. Hope everyone enjoyed their shave!

RAZOR - Gold Dollar 100 BRUSH - Rubberset #153 - known elsewhere as Dad's Old Brush SOAP - Williams Mug Shave Soap MUG - Vintage Old Spice shave mug - known elsewhere as Dad's Old Shave Mug PRE-SHAVE - Rite Aid label (Noxzema clone) face cream as pre-shave. AFTER SHAVE - Aqua Velva Ice Blue Another great 2-pass BBS shave from this very economical razor. The star of this shave though is the brush/mug combo - that were my Dad's when he was alive. Really enjoyed this shave. And I know Dad would be proud.

Smells like the Drug Store SEptember!!!! (Stirling Booster) September 7 Razor - Gem 1912 Blade - (3) Soap - Stirling Ozark Mountain Brush - Jayaruh #46 ASOD - Old Spice Moving right along to the third shave with the Gem/Gem combo. Stirling Ozark Mountain soap and I really like the scent on this one. I got the sample just because I lived in the Ozarks for several years and was curious as to what they would consider an Ozark Mountain scent. Silly me. It's made in Booneville, Arkansas. They should know what they're doing. And they do. They describe it as being "woodsy and spicy" and they do a fine job of that. I can pick up the hint of wood smoke as well as the various aromas that tend to be common to the Ozarks. Very nice job of capturing a rather unique and somewhat abstract scent. Oh, yeah, the lather.......it's Stirling. 'Nuff said. The third shave on the Gem PTFE blade was the best of all so far. Clearly my technique is more solid and that makes a huge difference. Each night on this blade has produced less irritation and tonight's was barely noticeable with the alum. Great near-BBS finish and a great after-shave feel due to the tallow. Beef in this soap, not sheep. I probably have at least three more shaves on this blade as it doesn't feel like it's begun to give up the ghost at all yet. I may switch to something else tomorrow but I'll keep the blade loaded to come back to later this month. Overall a very enjoyable shave not only tonight, but for all three nights that I've used this setup. Nice way to start the SE portion of my SEptember! Tomorrow morning - Old Spice before heading out the door.

2:00 a.m.. a little odd time to shave I guess but I just did anyway lol Just plain Barbasol Pacific Rush, but lathered with a few drops of water, and badger brush applied. Decided to have fun tonight with the basic Gillette Tech 1978. I can't remember what blade I used, as I dont pay much if any attention to blade brand. I have good equipment (I like all vintage), so even though I have a cpl of perceived favorites, I usually just grab any blade I have. First aftershave was M&L Florida Water...I use it after all shaves and throughout my day. For whatever reason I love everything about the stuff...bordering on an obsession lol. No burn whatsoever after a three pass, genuine BBS. After a bit, I used one of my homemade aftershaves...it's a slash, but needs to be shaken because I use extra vitamin E oil as both a carrier oil and moisturizer. Made with a soft, buttery blend of vanilla and a hint of bay( just plain bay). Very calming for just before bed! Happy shaving!
