To kickoff SEptember I used my new GEM MMOC loaded with a PAL blade. My introduction to the SE world was a GEM Featherweight. To be honest, I was underwhelmed. I tried all the blades and not one of 'em jumped out at me. When I saw the MMOC at the fleamarket I was like, "Okay that's nice, but...". I picked it up and was immediately impressed. It felt like a razor. So I pulled the trigger and bought it.
This morning after lathering up some Regiment Shaving's "High Speed" I got after it.
The first pass was WTG. I kept the head almost flat against my face and the two day growth practically disappeared. The next two passes were pretty anticlimactic. I was careful to not get overconfident and push. I was rewarded with a BBS shave. Overall I'm glad I bought it. Now I'm gonna have to find the blade for it. The test for any blade is how it removes the weekday stubble.

I know SEptember has barely started, but I am soooo looking forward to OCtober. I haven't shaved with my 1932-40 NEW SC in such a long time, I'm gonna spend the whole month with it...

It was my first fleamarket find and vintage Gillette.
Is it OCtober yet?

 

Excellent razor! Ride the cap, or just off the cap, and you'll be a happy shaver. Get the GEM stainless blades, they're all I use.

Did you make that brush?

 

I used a New LC with a Durham Duplex handle this morning, perfect!

 

Negative. That is JR#161 NY Mets Special Edition made with a wood nub from a Louisville Slugger bat.

Wool Fat Wednesday shave with my GEM MMOC.

 

The Gem mmoc was a nimble little cap rider tonight, and I asked a lot out of it. Loaded up with a Pella and completely shaved my sideburns off, did a three pass, trimmed the edges of my hairline and did the back of the neck. It's such an easily maneuvered thing...even did atg under my nose, over my thin mustache. Sorta picked it on purpose...lots of long paths shaved tonight. I'm really glad I ended up with an OC, though it wasn't necessarily on purpose
