  1. Thanks very much Matt.
  2. Tonight's shave was with a Hamburg Ground Razor, "Bengall". I had a very smooth 2 pass shave, with near BBS results. One small nick on the earlobe, that couldn't be seen, but bled very little. I've never done that before.

    Razor- "Bengall". Hamburg Hollow Ground.
    Brush- Semogue 1800 Boar
    Soap- Stirling Glastonbury
    Aftershave- Osage Rub

  4. Yeah, I'm liking the Chrome-Platinum a lot. I'm going to test it in all my razors eventually and find out if I like the BiC in everything. It would be great if I found a universal blade, but for now I cannot say that for sure until the testing is done over a course of many months. I have many other blades I'm testing at the same time.

  12. Wow! Very interesting, Matt. Thank you. You really know a lot about these. I really appreciate the info.
  13. I've actually only used a Feather in my Focus which is my mildest razor by far, so not a good sampling as it was tame. I will say compared to Personna Red, Astra SP, Sharp, Rapira Super Stainless, Sputnik, Shark, Lord, and Bolzano, its the sharpest IMO.

    Razor - Schick Injector M2
    Blade - [IMG] (3)
    Soap - Stirling Bay Rum
    Brush - Jayaruh #46
    ASOD - Clubman

Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!!! Oh, I didn't cut myself. No, nothing that ordinary. I just managed to get some of the bay rum Stirling in my left eye as I was getting ready to go for the second pass. Now, soap in your eye isn't a good thing, but I'm thinking the alcohol content of that soap may be high. Sheesh! Still burning after rinsing my eye repeatedly with cold water and saline, finishing the shave, rinsing with more saline and ending with some Visine rewetting drops since I don't have any other kind. I think I'd rather do a slice and dice with a pain stick that try the bay rum in the eye again. I suppose the one saving grace - still better than menthol below the belt, from what I'm told.

Other than that little mess up the shave was awesome. Smooth, near-BBS, great lather as long as it was only on my face and my weekend has officially begun!!

Funny thought - since I'm squinting like a pirate now from the bay rum soap, does that mean I might find another one-eyed matey about? Perhaps someone like........

  17. SHAVE OF THE DAY
    20170911_010910.jpg

    Prep: Gustafsons Woodlands
    Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic
    Blade: Pol-Silver
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft
    Soap: Grooming Dept Basique
Post: Lucky Tiger, Proraso Woods and Spice balm

Had a smooth 2 pass shave this afternoon. The scent of Basique is woodsy and pleasent but is a much lighter scent than the Aether, although it did get a bit stronger once lathered. Lather quality is reminiscent of Turtleship since it was dense and shiny, this is a excellent vegan formula and it could pass for a tallow lather if blindfolded. Very happy with the results from today's shave, finished off with Proraso Woods& Spice balm which is a scent that reminds me a lot of Nuavia Rosa, at least the 2 would compliment eachother beautifully. Hope everyone enjoyed their shave!
