Tonight's shave was with one of the first Japanese Razors I attempted to hone, over a year ago. It seemed tricky, at the time, but after several attempts, it all worked out. I've learned a lot since this razor, and each time I use it, it is just a pleasure to handle. The size, weight, balance, and edge are perfect. It might not be the prettiest, because I really never was able to properly restore it, but that just adds to its character. I had an Ultra Smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BDBS, with zero issues. Definitely one of my top shelf razors. Razor- Japanese "Cherry 92". Best Steel Brush- Semogue 1800 Boar Soap- Stirling Glastonbury Aftershave- Florida Water
Yamada "Beauty " 6/8. Maiden voyage with this one. A nice heavy (53g) blade. Typical Japanese shaver, which is impeccable. Three passes for bbs finish.
Only my second shave using this restored 6/8" razor from William Greaves & Sons. Just as good as the last one!
Tonight's shave was with a newly acquired Chinese razor. I had a very smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BBS. Only one issue, and that was with a tiny mole that got in the way, of this wickedly sharp razor. This razor came close to being "Shave Ready", from the factory. It just needed some creative strop work, for about 3-4 minutes, and it turned into a fantastic shaver. Razor- Gold Dollar W59. Brush- Semogue 1800 Boar Soap- Stirling Glastonbury Aftershave- Vintage Shulton Old Spice. Care of the "Admiral"
