I'm with you on enjoying the fun of exploring new soaps and other shave items. After my "Mad Rush To NB18" ends, I think I'll be quite satisfied with my arsenal-for a year. During my challenge next year, I'm sure there will be times when I say "Wow, that one looks great, but.....it'll have to wait til New Years Day 2019 at the earliest".
It's never easy to lose someone close to you. There will always be a twinge of sadness, even though the grief does fade over time. At least we get to keep the good memories. And, you now have some of her belongings which will, no doubt, spark thoughts of her.
It is so nice to be home again. I honed this NOS Torrey razor and used it for the first time this morning. I'm still a rookie with the hones, but got this one right. Today was a bit of a reset. I put a new blade in the Slim (randomly pulling out a Shark from my cache), pulled out the previously overstuffed Thater which has been "shed free" for several shaves now, and lathered up some awesome smelling Catie's Waterlyptus. I might just balance Universal Karma by using Osage every shave for the rest of the month. I like it as a first AS, followed by another for a soap matching scent. Gotta ask Jared. Why did you toss it?
